This is a petition to Linden Labs, asking them to please return Hussy Lustre to us.
My good friend, Hussy Lustre, has been on SL for years. She has payment info on file, and is age verfied. Suddenly, without warning, she was booted from SL. When she complained, she was told she needed to send in additional age proof. She did so, and the Lindens lost it. This happened weeks ago, and she has tried every day to get some explanation or help with this, to no avail.
Linden Labs, please fix this! Hussy is most certainly of legal age, and has broken no Second Life rules. We, the undersigned, are not asking for an explanation, we're not asking you to discuss this case with us, we're not asking you to make an exception, and we're not asking for an apology....we're just asking you to look into this and straighten it out.
We want our Hussy back!

Um, this is sweet and all . . . but you realize that Lindens virtually NEVER read or visit this forum?
You might do better to choose a more direct approach . . . perhaps a ticket? And why would she be booted for not being age verified???? People only get booted from SL for some pretty specific offenses under the ToS . . . and not being age verified is not one of them. Are they arguing that she falsified her info?  _____________________

Possibly get the names of more than one Linden staffer and send them each a copy. Was the proof sent via the mail or was it faxed? _____________________

Here is the story in Hussy's own words, as of about a week ago:
This all started with a notice on SL that there was a problem with my log-in, suggesting I call a phone number to have my password approved. I called the number, submitted a ticket and received a response from LL . . . although it took 7 days. The response was in the form of a "no-reply email" informing me my account was on hold due to identity/age verification. (OK, maybe I am a little older than I appear, but is THAT their business!!). There were instructions on what to send and how to send it . . . by snail mail or fax (does anyone fax anymore?). So it was off tyo FedEx/Kinko's to use the fax machine, waiting 20 minutes before LL's fax number rang through. Now it's just been a waiting game. I can't check the ticket progress because I can't log on. I can't check anything, BECAUSE I CAN'T LOG ON!! All I get is the same infernal phone number. I've talked with a variety of people in the U.K., which apparently is where the password verification keepers of all knowledge are. Some are friendly, some are bored, some are quite bitchy. None of them have been helpful. I've been asked to fax two more times, which, when I explain that little fact, they tell me "Well, faxes go to San Francisco office and we're in the U.K." WTF!!!!! Just today a very friendly customer "service" staffer told me my account had a notation that I "did not respond" and was closed. WTF!!! He SAID he restored my account and that he would send me an email to which I could attach a digital image. So I took a picture, hit email reply, attached the picture and sent the email. Then I received an error message that it was a no-reply email he had sent me!! WTF!!! So, back to Square 2. At least I have the phone number memorized by now. And I'm starting to be on a first name basis with the Lindens. Until sometime in the future I remain Hussy-in-Exile. |

I confess I am still mildly confused . . . this is because she was ARed by someone as under 18? Can't she verify through Aristotle? Why was her physical appearance even an issue? Was it on her profile?

If you can suggest a better place to post this, Scylla, I will certainly put it there. And she was age verified, before this all happened. And if fact, it seems people get booted from SL all the time, without any reasons being given. I wish we knew what they were arguing...they don't say. Well, posting on the Blog is good; Lindens actually read that. Unfortunately, it looks as though the only action they DID take was to lock the thread. They almost never venture here, but you may get some good advice from some of the more LL-savvy people, so it's still probably worthwhile. Suezanne's post, above, seems like one possible response. Sorry if I seemed confused: your explanation in SL Answers was briefer, but actually a bit clearer. I'd be very curious to know why they require more proof of age from someone who has PIOF and has already verified . . . I still can't help but wonder if this maybe resulted from an AR, but who knows?
