Ok This is still happening to me. I just tried to change outfits and found myself standing there bald and naked with a ton of "missing from database" messages piling up! I tried a few other outfits with the same result. Then I logged out before I got too depressed.
Can someone give me a link to the place to vote on this? I've forgotten how to find it.

In JIRA (jira.secondlife.com):

SVC-553 numerous reports of objects, notecards, scripts, gestures "missing from database"

SVC-114, recently retitled "Meta-Issue: Inventory Loss: issues, fixes, development"

VWR-358, "New feature -> Inventory -> Back-up/Export"

Good luck, Kaimi.

am i to understand that nothing will be done about the stuff that is missing form my inventory?

So far, the Lindens have remained obnoxiously mute on this issue - making the answer to your question a resounding "NO".

Thanks Miles. I couldn't actually find this issue. (maybe because I didn't know how to search properly) So I started it.

Please.

For the love of god.

Vote on JIRA SVC-114. Light a fire under LL's *sses to get the d*mned database fixed.

Every time someone loses a piece of inventory because of this unfixed problem...a little puppy dies.

Do it for the little puppies.

My solution has been to not bother logging in except maybe once a week. less frustration less temptation to buy things that will vanish. SL has been much more fun for me lately.

Rarely, rarely, never.

Rarely for the Lindens in the forum, that is. They're busy elsewhere.
