If you use a facelight, that counts as one for you and everyone else. If you're in a moodily lit place with torches, etc, you'll light up like a beacon, and will take away one light source from both you and others.) This makes sense...only six light sources total, and it it's dark with little lighting, you looks like you have a lantern on your shoulders. *chuckles* So, maybe a good rule is don't use a face light, unless you happen to notice that you have funny shadows on your face? |

You might also make sure that your hair isn't also a light source.. I bought one hair and it had 6 hair/face lights attached all around me. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why I couldn't see any surrounding lights, until I edited the hair and saw all those lights.  |

There are many fine examples of good facelights, and also examples of when facelights just don't help at all. Unless you're reeeeeealy not into building, or you want a ton of scripted control over it; I suggest not paying for one. You can build your own with 1 to 3 prims, a bit of adjustment, and a full-transparency texture/script (The script is my preference, no floating orbs while rezzing). (^_^) Just remember... When facelights attack...  It's not a pretty picture. (=_=)y |

My rule is, do what makes you happy, but spare some consideration for others too. I wear my facelight all of the time, but it's set at very short radius and just enough intensity to smooth out the shadows and that unfortunate divot in the chest.

check out etd hair or calla- they have some nifty styles in all lengths, including some nice updo's
reverie has some nice ao, as well as torrid (i cant remember her last name atm- somebody must know. you can probably search torrid animations)
customize your shape. not just the body, but the face. its uncool to look like everyone else.

Torrid Midnight...her shop is Torridwear, which I mentioned on the first page. She also made at least some of the animations in the Reverie AO

Thin line between one thing and another and the look, with different attitude, or attitude with a different look changes perception.
