Does anyone know where this skin came from? It is full-perm photo-realistic skin. A kind person gave it to me my first day in SL. I still wear it sometimes. It's that good. I've always wondered where it came from and what it would look like with the shape intended for it, but have never known where it came from.
Thanks!

The name would seem to indicate that it comes from the store X2,

Exotica%20Island/134/133/22/

X2 sells fairly pricey skins, and has complained about their textures being ripped off, so it may be stolen ... until you know for sure it might be best not to pass it around. Perhaps someone else knows whether this full-perm skin is legit?

I know mine sure isn't full perm..

Right-click on it in inventory and do Properties, Rhiannon. That should show the creators name.

When I click <Propeties>, the creator is listed as (Unknown).

I looked at X2 skins, but didn't find one like mine.

if you know it is X2, you should arrange an appointment with the creator and see if they can answer your questions in person.

you can find the creator of X2 skins by right clicking on any item in their store, and IMing them from there.

They may have retired that skin a long time ago, especially if it became a freebie.

I was wondering if the "X2" meant it originated from the store X2 or if it was more of a generic sort of thing, since the X2 store didn't have anything very similar, but it couldn't hurt to IM the X2 designer. That's a great idea!

X2 is most likely a skin by Storma Amulara. She's had many problems with her work being stolen. She's a super nice person so send her an IM and she can likely help you track it down.

Did you try dropping her a notecard? IMs do get capped.

I don't imagine I would respond too helpfully, if at all, to someone asking me for support with a product they hadn't paid for!

Oh, no! Not the old my IM's got capped so I couldn't respond, trick. I thought this was played out and they didn't do this anymore and they now had a brand new never been used excuse.

I'm not a merchant, trader, store owner, businessman, whatever in SL, but in the past, I've been away for say, a fortnight, and returned to find my IMs capped. I can therefore see why anyone running a business is likely to fall foul of this, especially at times when stale transactions are taking over the world and customer to seller communication is at peak volume.

I don't think it has anything to do with her being a shop owner.

Not in this case

I imagine the whole thing would leave you sour towards SL/LL (TM/TM) as well.

If the skin you described is X2 it's stolen. X2 skins are not transferrable. As others have posted her skins are often stolen.

My IMs get capped periodically, an it's not jes a lame excuse.

In my case Stephanie, paying something like 4000 L for the skin or , and the 9 other items ( clothes, shoes, full set of eyes) i bought at X2 SHOULD earn me some reasonable customer service.

Otherwise it feels like it's all about the money

the other sarcastic remarks i'm keeping to myself

Most shops in SL are owned and operated by one person who also likely has a regular job, a family, and myriad other obligations. In a perfect world we'd all be able to keep up with all of that, create and release new products on a regular basis, and provide great customer service. Then again, most of us are only human and don't own time machines, and sometimes people just plain get burned out. :)

Most shops in SL ........... etc :)

I do understand Chip - in fact I jointly own and operate some time consuming projects here myself, and have 2 RL small businesses and contribute to another

I paid for the skin and the other items so the stolen issue isn't any part of my problem with X2
The urge to sweeten or soften my post up regarding my valid complaint about my lack of customer service for my product that i paid (not you) for, somehow makes it all better?

I have never gotten a response from Storma no matter what i did (4 times) <-----------

You say Storma is very nice and is very busy ? Well Good!
Me too :-) i'd like to hear some more about what can be done about my problem with her product - i've sent photo's and notecards and friended her.
