Ah yes, now I remember. I didn't follow the whole OpenSpaces fiasco. I was disappointed that the original intent of OS was thwarted, and disappointed that they had been "abused", and disappointed that LL apparently encouraged or turned a blind eye to the abuse, and disappointed that LL's plan caused serious upset, and ... so I quit.

But really, I was just disappointed that it meant I'd have more trouble finding places to sail. I'm really ignorant about most SL real estate issues, except the obvious fact that it's NOT likely to increase in value just by holding it. Like RL property, um, used to do.

Well, they got bad data for me on that question, by not providing any option that applied to my case: a store on a region in a private sim. I'd expect that to be the most likely case, too.

What a disappointing post.

What are the biggest obstacles to content creation ?

(....) and disappointed that they had been "abused", and disappointed that LL apparently encouraged or turned a blind eye to the abuse, and disappointed that LL's plan caused serious upset, and ... so I quit. (...) .

In real life, in Europe a savings - real - plan housing must be supplied $ 75 per month at least, this money does not leave on virtual smoke, they are housing savings plans to open for children, gives them accesswhen the are thirties to a wealth of access to - real - property.
For the same price, LL said, "you abuse, you have no right to use what you pay, you only have the right to create a virtual cube, sit above and watch the linden virtual sea without complaining, bad bad residents that you are ... "

What are the biggest barriers to content creation?

If I pay $ 125 per month, ie the same price as a refund of real life-estate credit-in order to access the conditions that enable me to create, test, and possibly to sell, how can I do to find a way to get a small profit once paid my virtual land, the price of a real ground...?

I would like to add a virtual concept, which seems essential in the creative process, as in the process of trade: trust. For my part, As builder of virtual products, I try as much as possible to prevent, inform, the disadvantages that may lead to use of my creations, and I try as much as possible to respond to specific needs of each user when it encounters a difficulty. This transparency is the best guarantee of a healthy exchange between users and manufacturer, there is no good business without that trust.

The creative process and the process of starting a business, requires a minimum of good conditions and a minimum of certainty regarding the conditions for future work. If these conditions are changed without notice to the goodwill of LL, how to make projects?
When LL wanted so brutal, to make pay the price of its improvidence (incompetence?) to its users, with the VAT, with the increase openspace tariff , by daring to use the guilt of the user to offload responsibility... that day I lost that confidence, and I am far from alone.

What are the biggest barriers to content creation?

LL has just brought up to date of his mandatory-viewer module in which the textures picker takes about 13/15 scs to open, this bug is still present(Created: 28/Aug/08)
https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8818;jsessionid=863B2B6B529F98FE45F7D94D39F70784
A builder uses the texture selector 50/150 times a day ...

So "What are the biggest barriers to content creation? "

(sorry for my english, my tailor isn't rich)

Survey didn't state time period for survey.

I received the survey request. I ignored it at first as I thought it was just another of the SPAM type messages I get pretending to be someone authorized to act on behalf of someone else. Today I clicked on the link that brought me to the forum so it appears it was a legitimate request. However, clicking the link only tells me session expired. Looks like the survey has gone. I don't think the e-mail stated a deadline by which the survey had to be filled out.

As someone who is relatively new to SL (less than a year) and only just getting in to selling in the last month or so, it could have been interesting to do the survey and provide my input as someone new to the selling side of the SL marketplace.

Any one happen to know what was the focus of the survey? What kinds of questions were being asked?

I should also mention that my e-mail filters saw the survey request as a bulk mailing and tossed it in to my junk e-mail folder. That was another reason for not seeing it the day it was sent out.
