Hi everyone,

Thought I'd drop a quick little post here in case anyone came by looking for some answers. I'm currently conducting a survey of residents about their businesses and the SL economy. The survey is hosted by our research vendor Qualtrics. When I sent out the invitation previously there were some concerns that this was a phishing scam. While I appreciate the vigilance, I am letting you know that this survey is legitimate.

While we are on the subject of phishing, please note that we will never ask you for your username or password in a survey. We appreciate the vigilance, and if you are one of the people selected to take the survey we would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks, Andren Linden

I completed the survey; it was not intrusive. I hope you consider my suggestions!

Thanks Andren, I enjoyed taking the survey personally.

If you happen to check back and find yourself puzzled at the general reaction, it's just that this particular forum has been overrun lately by random people doing their own surveys of all kinds - as often as not, people who appear to have barely spent any time in-world and hope to get some free market research or have us do their sociology homework for them - to general amusement and some annoyance, and lots of discussion both serious and silly (ok, mostly silly at this point).

I hope you've been getting some helpful feedback all the same. Thanks for listening to us!

There's a survey? Oh..I don't have a business, so I guess that's why I didn't see it.

Andren's was different, though, because there was no mention of the survey being for a class.

100$ != 100.0$ ?!?!?
03-09-2009 22:06
When I was asked about the 100$, I didn't feel like I would use any of the services proposed, so I tried to distribute it evenly, so that the total would equal 100.0... But when clicking Next, I was told that it has to be 100$... So I just stuck 100$ in the first box...

I actually did this survey AND I did it while in the bathroom too. I thought to myself "Oh a survey by LL, interesting, how long could it take?" 15 minutes later... :(

Thanks for the clarification, I thought it might be a phishing scam at first. I filled it out honestly and made some suggestions. Though all the percentage stuff threw me off...I'm terrible at math and don't use percentages in business...I don't need to, I just need to know the basic numbers of sales. Still, I'm pleased that this survey was written by someone who at least knows more about SL than, say, M Linden. ;)

this statement was in the email:

"Interested in seeing the results? If so, all you have to do is take the survey and we’ll make you part of a beta group that will have access to the aggregated survey results."

I'm just wondering how you're going to include us in a beta group if you didn't ask our name during the survey.... so does that mean you will include everyone that the email was sent to?

Just wondering.....

I got it a couple of times. It's always tough for me because I have so many premium alts each with multiple sims of tier. I never know if I should answer all the questions as if each survey was filled out by me in RL (i.e many premium alts, very large business) or if I should fill it out as if I was just that single alt (i.e. just one avatar, 1 or 2 sims of tier, part share in a large business).

In the end I just wrote down what I thought would encourage LL to do the things I wanted most. So your results will show a few more Ninja Land Barons than you might otherwise expect.

openly share views

Can I afford to file my answers in public, I find it salubrious and interesting to openly share views, thank you Andren :o)

----------------------------------------------------------
What are the biggest obstacles to content creation?
----------------------------------------------------------
What is the question ?

What is the prejudice of the tariff increase of 76% of openspaces, on economic development, on health economic market, on health of pure creation, on creation and development of enterprise, on the conditions set creation, on the purchasing power of owners, or non owners avatars ?

This increase rate of average capacity lands has caused :
- A 76% loss of creative potential,
- A 76% loss of entrepreneurship potential,
- A 76% loss of business profits,
- A 76% loss of opportunities to rent land to be able to create,
- An inflation of 76% on the price of creations,
- Decreasing purchasing power of 76%
- etc..

By increasing the rates of land that offered financially viable solution for creating business and pure creating, Linden Lab has issued the following message:

"no one will make any profit on this LL platform, except Linden Lab him own".

This message was confirmed by the acquisition of Xstreet and the murder of competition.

Sorry to ask but, where is the mystery and why questions that LL knows the answers ?

----------------------------------------------------------
What tools do you use today, what tools would you like to use?
----------------------------------------------------------

-The SL in-world creation tools are the stone age of 3D creation tools...

-Also, the technical abilities to make enter and use in a dynamic and interactive way, Internet content into in-world sl, is close to absolute zero.

-Inter grid connexion is the close future, the cross-platform tool is the sine qua non condition for social and economic survival status of metavers.

----------------------------------------------------------
Would ability to import externally created 3d content (from Maya or other 3D applications) be helpful to your business?
----------------------------------------------------------

The technical solution chosen by LL, to import 3D forms by media images, causing instability, slow loading, vagueness, a latency of onset of the process, format that currently does not offer the required quality of products marketed.
The 3D image format Scult prim selected by LL is not a successful method, and LL would like to import 3D formats compatible with the 3D software creation?

My answer is: first finish what you start.

* I also would like to point out the contradiction to express the idea of importing content from 3D software that for the most part continue to support Windows 2000 OS, when LL decides to stop supporting this system.

----------------------------------------------------------
What can Linden Lab do to help you make your business more successful?
----------------------------------------------------------

I love your questions Andren :o)

As in any state, a cumbersome tax system kills creativity business.
The easiest way to support entrepreneurship, is to reduce the taxes :

- creators have to bear, to enable them to have better conditions to create, to have a chance at get a profit, profit they can reinvest in the creation market.
- customers have to bear to increase their purchasing power.

In the case of Second Life state, lower land pricing is the key.
