Or not. LL, after over a year of the installation being in place, came by and blew away SLs grandest train tressle. It made a list of SLs best bridges. I got accolades from big name and corporate builders. I got a half dozen offers for considerable RL$ for the 4000 prim sound and effect-scaped train and 1000 prim tressle and I never sold it because I wanted it to be a nice, unique SL tourist spot. http://www.seal-cove.com/forums/Train_001.jpgOk, I'll admit that tecnically this is my fault. I bridged it over Governer linden land. But at a height of about 25 -30 meters and as wide a span, it was NOT blocking the waterway in any way. A linden bridge just downstream has about 1/10th the space for a boat that this thing had. The build was unique and I got nothing but compliments spontainiously from people all over SL and all over the world. It had been in place for a year or more. Kind of ironic that they just randomly blow it away on the eve of announcing a rewards program for people that helped build SL up. It improved the view of the otherwise bland waterway and downstream malls considerably. Okay, I'll stop playing my violin . It's not like I didn't expect this at some point, but having ADDED to SL in a creative and selfless way and then to be written up for disciplinary action and treated as if I was a griefer really takes any motivation for trying to improve the SL experience in any way. I would have thought that any Linden looking at it would have at least called me out to discuss the problem... Oh, question: Should LL maybe apply a little judgement to such situations when leaving the "violation" in place was so obviously in their best interests? There are some people trying to IMPROVE the deplorable landscape problems of linden land. P.S. I think I'm going to actually make it look like it was blown up, blow out out the edges, beams everywhere, train in 1000 pieces on the ground with a little plaque commenrating "On this day, July the 6th of 'aught 8" Bandit Linden did blow up this tressle

About the link, try cutting and pasting it, if you are using the linkifier it might be sending an odd referrer or something that is getting blocked...

Just the center 1/3 was returned, the part over the linden river. Wtth the "cow catcher" right at the drop off Which is what gave me the idea to really "blow it up". I mean if it stays I'll have to do something to explain the missing section.

From: Dekka Raymaker on a ever increasing daily basis I am starting to believe that Linden Lab will only employ complete and utter wankers. lol u snapped the words right out of my mouth! there is nothing that annoys me more than some wanker trigger happy person ruins creativity and fun for the pure fact of minimalizm, weather this be in real life or online just the other week there was 3 homeless people that ALLWAYS slept outside boots, they had been there for over 2 years, they knew the manager of Boots and they got on really well, anyway they allways used to do these chalk drawings on the pavement to stop themselves getting to bored, some of them looked real damn good. so some dick job copper comes along and removes them and charges them all with vandalism, despite the fact that EVERYONE loved what they did and even spoke to the BBC about how creativity can cure drug addictions and alcoholizm, anyway all 3 got fined £12000, one lost the will to live and took his own life, 1 ran away (to Teepee Valley in Wales think) and the other is still on the run and is now a heroin user. thanks police for ruining 3 trying peoples lifes. everyone thought it was amazing how they coped, 2 of them worked and 1 was to ill to work and now ones dead, 1's on the run and the other has dropped out what a crappy police force we have in (not so) Great Britain, things never used to be this way, it seems to be a global thing at the moment and people are trying to quash creativity. minimalists should be sent back to where ever they came from and leave us creative and kind types alone!! sorry /rant over, lol edit: what you could do, it may be risky but it might work for future people in the same situation is send an email to LL stating that if u cannot be creative then you will be destructive.

From: Farallon Greyskin 4000 prim sound and effect-scaped train and 1000 prim tressle I could have made the tressle with 10 prims and 5 alpha textures -- the train with 2 sculpties. J/K. I'm disappointed for you (our) loss but I'm not surprised. LL seems to have lost it's way.

I think thats a marvellously mischievious idea And on or near the plaque put a petition so we can all come and vote to have it restored.

I never knew about that spot, and now they have ruined it? That was not a nice thing to do. They could at least get in touch with you first and give a warning. It looks beautiful on that screenshot! I wish you the best of luck (I mean, break a leg!) if you are going to put it up elsewhere. I used to enjoy visiting such well designed spots in SL.

So the fact that he was stealing 300+ prims a month means nothing? Hell, I want an extra 300 prims for my build. I think I will take them from the Linden road behind my property. It wasn't his land, he had no right to build anything on it.

From: Howard Sachs I wish you the best of luck (I mean, break a leg!) One belonging to the Linden who tore down the bridge would be a favourite. So great stuff that enhances the environment at the cost of a few Governor Linden prims is returned without warning, but eyesores that fall within LL's weak guidelines are tolerated. In a way, I can see their point... they have rules, you broke 'em. Aesthetic value is hard to judge, but I wish they could apply a bit of 'no harm, no foul' common sense here. If they go ahead and develop the area with something valuable themselves, all will be forgiven. Until then it stands as a piece of pointless, jobsworth vandalism.

you could try rigging the linksets, so that all the "base prims" are on land you own. That way your bridge would literally JUST be overhanging the linden land.. while they objects would still technically be on YOUR LAND.

When you link 300 prims to a base prim on your land to build over Gov Linden land, you use 300 of your prims to do it because the root prim of the object is on your land, so he wasn't getting 300 prims for nothing. Learn a little about SL building sometime before you let loose your agro Perhaps we should be blaming the person who AR'd the bridge rather than the Linden responding.

From: Tegg Bode Perhaps we should be blaming the person who AR'd the bridge rather than the Linden responding. Well to be honest, the person doing the reporting probably did so in good faith and we wouldn't want to make that person feel they were wrong, if any infringement occurs it should be reported. It's the response to the report that seems unjustified, it just takes a little bit of thought to decide whether something is an improvement to the environment or not. And ok the Linden had a right to remove it, but they are still idiots for doing so.

If it was linked then why wasn't the whole thing returned? Did the Linden unlink the object then just return select prims?

If it wasn't linked to a root prim how did it stay above Govenor Linden Land with autoreturn on? And possibly the Linden did unlink it and just remove the offending prims, I've had that happen before when a 50x50 megaprim of mine overhanging linden land by 1 metre was retuned but other linked parts remained.

Even if they did unlink it, they were entirely correct in returning it. There is no difference in that bridge and anything else. If they left they bridge, they would have had no business returning ads, as long as they were linked to a root prim.
