From: someone
Second Life is currently experiencing Inventory Issues. It is highly recommended that Residents do not rez or edit any items in their inventory or attachments on their Avatars. Second Life at this time is restricted to Linden Login only until this issue is resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

I can't upload animations. can't equip some tools.

LL fails at stability, this is why I blatently refuse to subscribe to SL. the chances of it being around the next week are slim.

Next week? I think it'll be fine later today. It's not so dire as all that.

Blog post about it, logins closed, 2 minutes ago.

I was getting various inventory errors so I tried to log out and back in to fix it.

Ah well, food's almost ready so I guess it's not a big deal as long as it's all working before the last forkful goes in.

bleh the lindens have a new massive problem* every week or every other week. at this rate they'll hit a problem that isn't immediately fixable.

They need to free the hamsters and invest in some wharf rats for running the servers ;)

*sigh* And I was about to log in to play around and explore. Drat it.. I guess CoH will do until it's fixed.

Sorry about all that. I was trying to take a piccie. I crashed, and on log in had none of my attachments (including big scary blue boxes about gestures missing from database and assets not found). I tried to attach my hair, no go. I tried to TP, no go. I logged out, tried to log back in, and got the "restricted."

Before anyone else asks, can I have your stuff?

I said that I wouldn't invest cash in. nothing about time, a scripter can make enough cash for a rental.

Well, it is kind of the Lindens' fault.. they created the technology. But like everyone else, they gotta learn in baby-steps. Grid/Asset stability is a bit more than a 'baby-step.'

Replacement of pricey items lost?
01-03-2008 11:15
I lost a valuable personalized item that was paid for by a friend! It was very precious to me. I know I can request a replacement from the maker, but this was personalized and there's no proof of purchase! (and it is/was pricey). Help?
I agree with "blatantly reluctant" about subscribing to premium, especially if I wanted to conduct REAL business here. Even with all the problems, I still have fun here, anyway! Hurry Lindens, I need my fix!!!

Technology is not inherently unstable. The instability is the result of poor design, implementation, and the management decision that puts the focus on features instead of bug fixes. The MASSIVE backlog of unfixed bugs in Jira is proof of this.
