Can't keep my friends :(

Ok the title is a little misleading, it's only one particular friend I cannot keep. I don't understand why, maybe somebody here can help me.

Every day one of my friends disappears from my friends list.
She is not removing me. Every day I send her a new friend request, or she sends me one... and she is readded. She stays on my list until I log out, and then when I log back in again she is no longer there. It is getting really infuriating. I've tried completely uninstalling the client, deleting everything and re-loading fresh. I've tried adding her, she's tried adding me.... I don't know what more to do. I do not disappear from her friends list.. she can always see my online status. She is not however, on my list when I log on until I re-add her. I have added other new friends since this problem began and they all stick. All of my friends prior to this problem (except for her) stick. So why can I not keep this one friend?

I tried submitting a ticket on this, but becasue i'm just a peon resident and not a premium account holder the Lindens say I'm not worth helping with this.

I believe this started after she deleted me for a test... she wanted to see if she could see my online status via my contact card if we weren't actually friends. After she verified that she could not, she re-added me and I think that's when the problem began. Ever since then she won't stick on my friends list (though I do on hers).

Has anybody else seen anything like this? It's such a weird problem, it makes no sense.

Have her delete your contact card before you add friends?

When I first read your post I thought you said "and she is a redhead". I was going to say that explains it. They are crazy!

We are NOT! People are crazy ABOUT us though. Maybe that's what you meant.

The only time this ever happened to me, I later found that the other person had given her SL girlfriend her password, and the GF was logging in and deleting me.

/me goes crazy after reading Eli's comment.

It isn't anything like this either, because there have been times when we were chatting and she logged out (and I saw her log out because she was on my friends list) and then I log off and log right back on, she is still not logged on, and she's no longer on my friends list.

I don't understand why she is removed from my list every time I log out. Like I said though, I stay on her list.

The first thing my husband said to me when we met was, "Redheads are trouble." He mumbled it under his breath when he met my mom, too.

I don't accidentally delete friends, just groups. I've never had a problem rejoining groups, though.

I had asked a person to add me the other day and, after waiting a suitable period of time for the invite to appear, went ahead and initiated the add from my end. We apparently did so at the same time, because we both hit the Accept button on our respective screens from each other's invite and now that person is on my friends list twice. Kinda the opposite problem as yours, but probably related in some fashion.

Get her to remove you as a friend (and if she is in your list remove her as a friend) and then delete all of her Calling Cards in your inventory and get her to remove all of your Calling Cards in her inventory.

Then send her a friend request and see if you can both keep each other as a friend.

And yes redheads are nice

Or maybe she uncheck the button where your name is; so you can't see her if she's online ~ but she is still in your friend's list *just maybe*

I didn't associate it with this problem (I was having a redhead moment, I guess), but you're right...I didn't know I showed up on your friends list, I just assumed neither you nor I had the other listed. Good catch...Jackie

When posting images, especially ginormous ones, would it be possible to avoid .png images? They're a bitch to load.

after deleting each others calling cards and friend both log off and try again?

This happened about a month ago and that is how we finally solved it dont know if it will ok?

yea we tried that, it didn't fix it.
Would using a different version of the client affect this? I'm using the most recent "official" sl client (not an RC or anything). I wouldn't think that this would be affected by anything client side, friends lists must be kept server side (I would have to assume).
