From: Ricardo Harris What do think? It's play time. Time to show them what really good weapons can do. After that they'll think twice before atempting to try out their weapons on someone.
You guys put too much effort and emphasis into AR's. That doesn't work, don't you know this by now? Besides, these indiviuals already know this. Plus, they don't respect being AR or being reprimanded because for the most part they already know nothing will happen.
Stop wasting your time on AR's. This is the crutch of many people in sl. AR everything and everyone whenever something happens. You realize that the greifer crowd is savvy and will use anything you say or do to them against you, along with a bevy of AR's from all their friends to counter your defensive offense. It is best to simply AR them freeze and ban...no conversation, no defensive push...nothing; anything more, and you give them ammunition to use against you.

From: Cunundrum Alcott I hate to tell you this but AR's do work. I'm a victom of them. I was promptly disconnected from SL within minutes of dropping a huge prim over someone's Tringo game that had moved next door to me and ruined my happy home. I had to wait 2 days to get back into SL. So you can't convince me that AR's don't work, they do. Cunundrum my little cherub, could it have been you just might (even by a terrible and awful accident) maybe just somehow dropped a big prim on that avatar who caged you at some point in the past……

From: Showdog Tiger There are a few people here who need electro-shock therapy and a cheap spay and neuter. Amen, sister.

After I reported it the sim owner found her in another section of the sim and engaged her in a conversation, then used a flame thrower on her and banned her

From what I've seen it occasionally does work but only when the AR is sent by people who pay lots of money to Linden. Tringo Games usually done in sims by those who own them as well as other ones. Just as in rl, the only ones getting any attention are the big boys.

ARs are useful. How effective they are depends on how strong your evidence is that the griefer is guilty - remember, the Lindens weren't present when it happened. But they are still useful, because they signal LL that there are two sides to the story if the griefer tries to AR you.
What do I do?
Mostly I walk around nonphysical, so there is little any but the most hard-core griefers can do to me to begin with, even though I spend a lot of time in public sandboxes. When caged or otherwise attacked, I generally AR them. If they haven't left the area by the time I'm done with the AR, what happens next depends on my mood and how nasty I judge the particular griefer to be. I rarely speak to them anymore; I find the Wrath of God approach is more efficient and effective: Out of the blue, with no warning, something terrible happens to them with little or no good indication of who or how, even if they do know why.
Mystitool is a good, relatively low-cost tool for this, though the attacks are comparatively gentle. JVTek shields are very good, if you want to go upscale on defense. For those who want to go all out, the Quantum Core is next to godliness, but it's going to cost you.

From: Har Fairweather Mostly I walk around nonphysical I've used Omicron since almost day 1. When I use the non-physical bot movement is really difficult. How do you walk around nonphysical and appear anywhere normal or build?

I use the JVTEK shield. It comes with animations that give you a reasonable normal-looking walk. A tad noobish, maybe, but normal-looking.

From: Showdog Tiger Dearly Darling,
I heartily concur! I have some wonderful Tri-Tronic collars I'd love to test out here in SL. I won them at a charity function but won't used them on my dogs....they are trained and don't need to be zapped. There are a few people here who need electro-shock therapy and a cheap spay and neuter.
You all have a lovely afternoon!
Ever Yours,
Mrs. Showdog Tiger LOL - sweet.

From: Cunundrum Alcott I get caged! I saw the b*tc...person flying around and thought nothing of it because the sim is always busy. I decided to fly out a bit and get an overview of (in my own opinion) my perfect build and BAM.
I was a good girl, I calmly IM'ed the (TOTAL B*TC...) person and said that I would now have them banned from the sim and file an abuse report. They told me to take a chill pill because they were only 'trying things out'....
What do you guys normally do when this happens? A gun works well

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.
