So yesterday I'm happily building away when all of a sudden...

I get caged! I saw the b*tc...person flying around and thought nothing of it because the sim is always busy. I decided to fly out a bit and get an overview of (in my own opinion) my perfect build and BAM.

I was a good girl, I calmly IM'ed the (TOTAL B*TC...) person and said that I would now have them banned from the sim and file an abuse report. They told me to take a chill pill because they were only 'trying things out'....

What do you guys normally do when this happens?

Freeze, mute, toss, ban, eject and AR. Then tell them to chill, you are just trying stuff out.

It's not worth getting upset over. AR them, tell them you're just testing out the ban and AR system then totally forget about it.

I ban them from the parcel and don't converse at all, but don't bother with the AR report.

When someone filed an AR on me it was maybe 10 minutes and I was disconnected, I was amazed how fast it happened.

1. Freeze
2. Escape cage (since it's your land, just return it)
3. In About Land, turn on physical damage
4. Pull out the shotgun

You can figure out the rest.

Never happens on my land since I have an orb protecting it.

But if it happened elsewhere...I'd AR the person while inside the cage so I could get a good screenshot, then either rez my Mysti non-physical vehicle and walk through the cage, or rez a box outside the cage and sit on it....or just tp away.

You can sit on the cage also. *Pop* right on the top.

Unfortunatly I was outside my parcel (my parcel is no-build) thats how she got me.

I've never been caged. But my partner threatens me with it all the time.

I shout in chat 'THE NAME OF THE IDIOT DROPPING CAGES IS: ***** *******' ......several times if neccessary.

I don't typically converse with 'em. If it's land I control, then I start the AR (to get a good screen shot, then I eject and ban, and finish the AR. Most of these folks *want* the attention - why should I give it to them?

Strangely, the few times I've felt the need to return fire, I've never had an AR filed upon me...

Most of the time though, it's time to sit on a non-phys object if I'm not on my land.
Ignoring them works well after that.

Worst case if orbited? Relog to home.

Maybe there could be a griefer probabtion system where they have to attach a usb controlled electrical device to something near and dear before they could log in *grin*

What do think? It's play time. Time to show them what really good weapons can do. After that they'll think twice before atempting to try out their weapons on someone.

You guys put too much effort and emphasis into AR's. That doesn't work, don't you know this by now? Besides, these indiviuals already know this. Plus, they don't respect being AR or being reprimanded because for the most part they already know nothing will happen.

Stop wasting your time on AR's. This is the crutch of many people in sl. AR everything and everyone whenever something happens.

I love when this happens actually, because it's normally some noob trying out their free cager toy they just found, and have no idea how to use it or protect themselves against such an attack. I'll typically follow them, and then unleash my entire arsenal of toys upon them, until they are left begging for me to stop.

Then I invite them to sit and chat, and I sell them some real cagers. lol

I heartily concur! I have some wonderful Tri-Tronic collars I'd love to test out here in SL. I won them at a charity function but won't used them on my dogs....they are trained and don't need to be zapped. There are a few people here who need electro-shock therapy and a cheap spay and neuter.

I hate to tell you this but AR's do work. I'm a victom of them. I was promptly disconnected from SL within minutes of dropping a huge prim over someone's Tringo game that had moved next door to me and ruined my happy home. I had to wait 2 days to get back into SL. So you can't convince me that AR's don't work, they do.
