I am somehow thankful for the Open Sim and Zindra Desaster and some other mess. It gave me the opportunity to improve my school english since I didn't speak or write english for more than 20 years until ca. Feb/March 2009

But it is still sometimes difficult and full of typos and spelling mistakes.

And as more complex a theme appears, as more it is eating time for searching fitting vocables in translation software and to create halfway fitting sentences.

So, for me it would be comfortable to face strict dictatorship and brutal censoring by LL, because I would have to type then ever only 3 (three) words in direction to follow LL:

"Yes" and "Thank you"

:D

What's everyone on about, there are new rules?

Not seeing them...

"Ships? What ships? I see no ships."

I know several forum folks have started their own forum pages as a kind of back up plan. And there a lot of blogs surfacing that would serve the same purpose for social interaction more in depth than can be had in world. Heck - if worst came to worst, I'd start one.

slapt.me

for example

A good reason to praise the Lord (metaphoric)

'Policeman MacCruiskeen put the lamp on the table, shook hands with me and gave me the time of day with great gravity. His voice was high, almost feminine, and he spoke with delicate careful intonation. Then he put the lamp on the counter and surveyed the two of us.

'Is it about an iceberg?' he asked.

"If you mean the one that is parked outside, then yes," I whispered. I gazed into his watery grey eyes that I could dive into. The briefcase in my hand suddenly felt heavy.
"What's in it?" he demanded in a polite manner.
"Water, mainly, but in frozen form."
"The briefcase," he intoned. "What's in the briefcase?"

I think what will happen is that LL will try to create a rule-following forum and that those of us who prefer a more social environment will find a home elsewhere.

.

BINGO!!!!

What drew ME to SL was the Open-ended-ness of it.

No hard line rules or regulations. No 'admins' reading every single post I make.

A good bit of freedom with merely a few limitations.

BUT.... I am also a CONSUMER. I spend $$$ to be here, to "pay" for land, etc.

Start restricting me and I can just as quickly move elsewhere.

I can tolerate "some" restrictions, like forum posts, etc. But when it starts to become "Disney-fied", I'm SO out of here.

"This? This is a briefcase full of blues," I replied, drily. "It's a harmonica."

MacCruiskeen smirked. "And I suppose you expect me to believe your name is Elwood? I've seen that movie too you know. Now what's really in the briefcase, wise guy?"

Policeman MacCruiskeen...

Wait, I missed this before... is that your man who lives on Cruiskeen Lawn? Or is it the brother?

(I'm a long-time Brian O'Nolan fan.)
