I guess we are going on about the name thing because it can happen. But it’s apparent you are positive that it was indeed your friend. Have things changed since yesterday? Any contact? I suppose this person may have been un prepared to deal with you, maybe he thought no one would find out and you surprised him with your IM and he didn’t know how to respond. In the end its HIS problem and you will just have to wait and see if he is capable of remaining your friend. Too bad really but that's how things can work in SL. Move on...I’m sure you can find another drinking buddy.

From: RandyChris Nightfire NNNNNNNNNNNNNOoooooooooooooooo no problem... I just could not understand why I was ignored, thats all...So I was told, he is a male account and a male AV... I got drinking with him as a male Av.. then all of a sudden he tp's in as a very pretty female...As I explained earlier, I can understand and respect that people may want to gender change at some point in their SL life...But if you do gender change, why should you ignore the friends you made before you changed gender... I think the original question, to which this is an answer, is a bit unfair. Gender play, and it's results, are a large part of what a lot of people actually do in SL. I think there's nothing illegitimate about discovering what gender play means to you, and what that helps you to understand about tabus and how society both creates and works with them: nto just at a Jerry Springer level, but also about the insides of our own heads, and the thoughts we are "permitted to have" and suchlike. I have noticed lately that a load of people I've been used to seeing playing a lot with gender (shemale characters, principally) have gione "one step further" at least by their own values, and started playing across the race boundary: so last year's shop-bought sexpot with a d*ck is this years black, shop-bought sexpot with a d*ck. This is one of those hot button issues: if one tabu breaker doesn't getcha, the other one will, kind of thing. I suppose the bottom line for the questioner is, are there any reasons why others would agree with his assessment of being disturbed? Answer: only those who have an uncommonly low barrier between their RL selves and the SL puppet they occasionally steer about the grid.

Well, your drinking buddy could have been cruisin' for some girls and found he couldn't get any as a guy. So, on with the girl-suit and ignore the guys in the hopes of getting some...
Can you map the guy? You know, see his location when online? It might not have been him, only similar enough to make you think it was him.. and he was somewhere else at the time?
Otherwise, the cruisin' for ladies is the only reason I can think of to ignore you. Either that or is wife decided to take his account for a stroll. I do that with my hubby's occasionally and I don't know all his friends...

My friend wanted me to make a few alterations to his land and inventory, so I borrowed his very male Viking avatar. He's a Gorean and his start location was in some Gorean port, which when I materialized as him was surrounded by slave girls who wanted some action. I ignored them and teleported out to his property. I did stay long enough for a chuckle, though. Of course, I had to pad the story a bit when I told him about it, namely that he had a couple girls who were begging to be his slaves but I accidentally deleted and erased their IMs.
