The best way to make sure you like your AO, is make your own.
Get the free ZHAOII for instance and buy animations you like for sitting, walking, flying, running, etc etc and place them inside the AO. Edit the notecard and you're ready to go with your own custom AO. _____________________

This process of creating a custom AO is easier said than done. I know many long time residents that have trouble, not even considering someone who is new to SL. You must understand how to rez things, how to place animations into the contents of the AO, and how to properly edit and save notecards. If you need any help with this, drop me a line and I'll lend a quick hand.

Try doing a search for "Animation Warehouse." It is a large shopping area with a ton of different stores.

You don't have to pay a lot. In fact I ended up liking free ones better.
Bare Rose has a dollarbie section with free AOs, or dollarbie AOs, I recommend you start with something like that. _____________________

It can convey a lot about you. I highly suggest trying it. If you need help, drop me an IM ![]() _____________________

So many AOs are annoying though. I wish there was a nice subtle one out there. I don't hop around from foot to foot, bend at the waist, do splits, or pose like I'm about to drop one, in real life.
I don't see how it would spice up my SL either. Lol So I settled back into just using the freebie sexywalk. _____________________

LOL - yes. Those seem ubiquitous on the grid lately.
The "drop one" (I'm trying to be somewhat delicate) AO seems particularly popular, along with the "back it up" AO. Oh, and the "wriggle like you have ants in your pants" AO. I'll never figure out why people buy those? _____________________

Heh, I have that AO. I agree about RL... but this is SL. To each their own. ![]() _____________________

Walk around here:
-- Animation Shoppers - Toy & AO, Anime (87, 158, 20) Lots of AOs that are different than what you'll see on most other western SL people. Its a PG zone, so make sure you're properly dressed before popping in. All of the AOs have posing stands in front of the vendors for you to try them out first. _____________________

I like to find just a decent, inexpensive ao that doesn't have me running my fingers through my hair all the time or posing as if I'm in some fashion show. The one I have its over 3 years old and it is very natural looking but would like to add to it. _____________________

I have a really hard time finding male animations for my AO that are subtle but lively without being flamboyantly gay or hyper-masculine. I also don't like animations that show me crossing my arms or holding them behind my back. I prefer confident, relaxed movements, but not like I'm getting ready to pound someone, Hulk Hogan style. There are just too many extremes out there. Maybe it's easier to make exaggerated movements.

Disney noted that in animation, if you capture true to life, it looks fake. If you overdo it, it looks natural.
On the other hand, my dance animations claim to be motion capture, and look natural... So, whatever... ![]() _____________________

Try Torridwear.
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Menel/125/60/23 I also really like the walks at Body Language. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bon%20Voyage/50/10/877 Oh, and if you're under 30 days old, Long Awkward Pose has a nice freebie AO for new Residents. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Festivale/97/90/29 _____________________

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

My other observation is that unrealistic and exaggerated AO's does seem to couple well with our unrealistic and exaggerated avatars. If you want to be realistic, you probably should be walking around looking like you've eaten at McDonalds a few too many times.

Edit the notecard and you're ready to go with your own custom AO. Huddles will also work well for this. I recommend keeping one of their included AO and just adding animations to it. That is easier than adding a new AO. It is one of the few notecards that I finally figured out. So far, I have been able to add animations to it from several venders. I like SEmotions animations, which you can buy separately, or as an AO hud. BT |

I am old skool and have not changed my AO since 2006 (if it ain't broke...)
Go to LOSTDOG. When you land go forward and g in to your left and turn left again in the entrance and to the back. The female DNA AO is there. - It is about $1200L http://slurl.com/secondlife/Brauer/40/127/303 I enhance that AO by wearing the UrbanGroove Bellyring from Xotica Sexywear Boutique This keeps the arch in my back straight - it is $500L http://slurl.com/secondlife/Paw%20Paw/69/212/108 . _____________________

I Maybe it's easier to make exaggerated movements. Yes, it is - and unfortunately, the SL optimisation process can kick in and obscure subtle movements in an animation. _____________________

I've got a few great one's from SEmotion......and I've added and subtracted other movements over the past couple years. It's not rocket science to edit an AO....it IS tedius but if you can read and follow directions.....you'll be fine.
Reel Expression has some great poses and a couple nice AO's.....but I love their individual poses. Another fun place to get individual poses is LAP (Long Awkward Poses) but, don't let the name fool ya....they have some way cool stuff! _____________________
