Hi, I know there is a lot of walking AO's but 99% of them seem to be that "Sexy Walk" thing and I don't want that. I'm wondering if anybody knows where I can find a feminine walk that does NOT have swiveling hips that I can wear. Thanks!

Your best bet is to go to an animation store and check out the different walks available. All good animation shops have a test platform that you can stand on and click through the different animations. The Animation Warehouse (and many other places) have a huge selection of animation mini-shops from many designers; there are lots of great places out there to try.

Maybe look at the walks at Animazoo?

Thanks! Oryx, I've already been to many animation shops and it just seemed like they all had the same "sexy" walk ao. I found one that didn't but it wasn't wearable. Thanks Crystal for the links. I'll check them out.

You can buy just the walk animation by itself and then put it into your AO. Or you can make your own AO by buying separate animations and putting it together into a zhao2 ao device which is free. Maybe try looking at the male animations too.

Hava - Sounds like you're talking about a walk you can simply wear, rather than an AO... I'm looking for the same thing. I had a wearable "sexywalk" on an old deleted account. (Thought I was done with SL... guess not. LOL) I loved the simplicity, but hated the walk itself. I just want a nice normal confident walk that I can right-click and wear, and never have to think about again. Is it out there somewhere?

Enkythings has a nice, wearable, simple female walk replacer. I wear it all the time and have never found a female walk I like better.

Sadly, the Enkythings walk is in a no-modify prim wearable and thus I can't integrate the animation into an AO. I spent hours at Animation Warehouse and couldn't find a single walk I liked.

Sounds as though the Enkythings walk replacer should work for your purposes, though.

Thank you Sorcha! Were you referring to 'female walk'? That's definitely more along the lines of what I was looking for. Wish there were more options out there, but this will definitely do. :) Thanks for letting me leave the waddles behind.

Try testing some of the male walks. They can give you a very determined look.

I'd like a walk with hips that swivel to a normal degree.

I'm logging in to check out the enkythings walk.

Try CGBG, she has both male and female walks and running animations. I prefer hers to any others I've tried.

I was hunting for the same thing a while back, and got a walk called "Confident Walk" (or something similar) which I was able to drop into my ZHAO but for the life of me can't remember where... When I'm in-world later I'll look it up.

Vista Animations has a couple of sets which are less 'girly' (and some nice animated "stands";) so worth checking out. Also Joh(a)n Durant's animations.

Will edit later once my memory is reminded!

This seems to be a desideratum! I'll make a walk like that and let you know when it's available at my shop. :-)

Sounds like you're talking about a walk you can simply wear, rather than an AO...

That *is* an AO, albeit one without any additional controls and customizations. The techniques used for showing the walk (and overriding the default) are exactly the same, and wearing two, like both a customizable HUD AO and one embedded in another attachment, is likely to collide with unwanted results, as they both battle for control over your legs.

There was a thread about "normal" walks a while ago:
/327/f7/242398/1.html

(Corollary: Shoemakes, for the love of the Gods, when you include a walk AO in your shoes or boots, do also include a non-AO version of the part!)

My CGBG one is pretty good. I cant remember where I got it but it is a female walk that to me is a nice one, not too much swaying of the hips and stuff. Wish I could figure out how to put that in the Zhao.

Thank you so much Dylan and Tali I know exactly what you're talking about w/the shoes! I saw some really nice shoes last night, but ALL of them had that "sexy walk" imbedded into them!!! UGH! I found a walk at one of the shops I went to last night and the package is called Zhao (I think - not inworld right now), but for the life of me I can't seem to make it work! I followed the instructions to drag it onto my avvy which would make two buttons appear in the lower right corner. The bottom one was supposed to turn it on or off and the top one supposedly would bring up a menu of choices, but no matter what I did or how many times I clicked on either one, I never got any menu! When I tested it out, the walk had minimal hip swaying which was ok, but I'm still hoping for a confident, feminine one w/no hip swaying.

Does anybody know if the walking animation can be separated from the shoe? What I mean is if I buy some shoes and they have a walk that is attached to them that I don't like, like the "sexy walk," is it possible to delete that walk and still wear the shoes?

You can "edit linked" and click on the different prims until you find the one with the AO script. If the shoes are mod or if the script is *not* copy, you can remove it from the shoe.
You can always take things out from an item, even if it is no-mod, but you may be hit by the quirk that if the shoes are no-mod but allow copy, you will take a *copy* of the script, leaving the original in the shoes with no way of getting rid of it. (Also, be aware that if the shoes are no-mod, you cannot put the script back in later).

That, or IM the creator for a replacement part without the AO. That way, you also make them aware of the need for a non-AO version, which they really need to learn!

As for the ZHAO (or ZHAO II), it is one of the most common configurable AOs. You need to load it up with your own animations and write a notecard in it to configure it, telling it how to use the specific animations you've put into it. Try editing the contents and look for a notecard there; most come with an example which shows you what to write to get it working.

I don't know. You're talking to a complete scripting/animation illiterate, lol. The walk package did have a note card w/it. That's where I was getting the instructions from. The shoes that I was talking about are no mod/no transfer. That's why I was asking. Speaking of linking I've totally forgotten how to link or unlink (I've been a premium member before, but have been away for about 4 yrs)! :/

Is it possible that you were in a 'no scripts' area?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Most likely explanation - you were in an area that does not allow scripts. Next most likely explanation - the AO you got was bad, either it was missing scripts, or the scripts had crashed or stopped for some reason.

If you feel up to it, pick up an empty ZHAO-II from my store (LM in my profile picks) and set it up with the animation(s) you want. This involves moving some inventory and editing a configuration notecard. It comes with an instruction notecard, but Dylan Rickenbacker has a blog entry that is a far better tutorial, complete with screenshots. Read the instructions carefully, take it one step at a time, and you should have no problems. If you do, IM me or post here and I'll try to help.

If you "Open" the prim and transfer the animations to your inventory, you can then put them in another AO. Of course, you break the wearable that way, but this does not matter, I guess.

"Breeze" by Johan Durant is a good AO set for those who don't want to look like a teenager trying to be "sexy". I agree, though, it is rather difficult to find such animations. I'm tempted just to make my own.

Original, where do I find this "Breeze" ao? I tried doing a search inworld, but there were over 80 pages to go thru and I didn't feel like looking thru that many. If that isn't what I really want, how are you coming Dylan?

If you ever want to find someone's store, search their name in the People tab and then look in the Picks or Classified part of their profile. The specific AO Ordinal refers to is right by the entrance to my store, and it was specifically designed as a counter-point to all the over-the-top sexy walks in SL, so I hope you like it!
