Walking : Something normal please?

Certainly I don't want to walk like a spastic chicken, but I am getting tired of the only walk options being a)too much sway and swag, b)way too much sway, and c)a ludicrous caricature of the runway specimen. I just want to walk like I'm going to the bus stop, grocery shopping or any (almost :) ) normal activity. Is there anything out there like that?
Thanks to Natalia Zelmanov, I am creating my own ao. So a big plus would be the animation itself that I could put into it.

Thank you.

True, there are many shops. I spent an entire evening long ago, hopping from one to another and trying all their walks. Never found one I liked so I've been stuck with sexy walk (which isn't that bad). I'm just too lazy to continue the search, I'd rather be doing other things in SL. I'll be watching this thread!

Bits and Bobs has some good, not-too-overdone walks.
You could also try taking a look at some of the designated "male" walks; some of the casual ones of those are really more appropriate than the exaggerated "sexy sways".

I use a male walk from Abraminations and am happy with it. It's a very determined walk, and there's nothing particularly masculine about it

Never thought about using a male walk. Great suggestions Tali & Galena! :)

I've always liked DNA by LostDog except for the damn stretching. I've been using Vista lately, my avatar has it's arms folded in front like she has a serious attitude :)

Most of the under-20L animations I see are very conservative. Some are too stiff, but okay. I myself like a little wiggle... (>_>;) *looks at own Sassy Gurl ZHAO* .... (^_^)

Thanks all of you. These are great leads.

A while ago, I downloaded the bvh_files.zip from the download section of SL and made a normal female walk animation from the avatar_female_walk.bvh file inside. I finally packaged it and it is available on slexchange.com at:

http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=567927

It is no cost.

To me, it is a normal walk :)

OK .. putting this another way .

If your inclined to view SL from 3rd person .. then yeah you might be watchin' your own butt too close.

press "M" and view from mouse look. i.e First person for a while ..

Stop watchin' yourself and look at those around you.

And by that logic, all you'd see were default avatars wading around with stiff zombie walks, since they haven't "wasted time looking at themselves" to make them look good.

That would depend on if you hang out where default avatars hang out ..

Usually after a short time on the mainland they have some kind of AO.

I've been using Abraminations's "Guy Normal" walk. At L$50 it's a bargain, even comes with a simple AO for just the walk.

When I'm in high lag sims, such as when I'm shopping, I'll take off my HUDDLES and just wear the simple AO instead.
