I grew up in errm, a part of town/area where many people speak like that. I can do it too, easily, I call it 'corner talk'. I don't 'choose' to, usually, but I certainly can. I had a friend tell me once, after listening to me and another friend talking, gee, when you talk with her, I cannot even understand the 2 of you. lol. I like it being a choice, not a 'must do' because you 'cannot' speak in a more educated manner. I suspect Jumpy is the same and he is choosing to speak the way he does, not that he has to.

BTW, Ordinal Malaprop has a freebie Twitterbox attachment at her store in Caledon that allows you to get and send tweets from inworld chat.

Man, Twitter is SOOOOO December 14, 2008! I have moved on from this antiquated time vampre to a whole new time vampire called 'Tenshun-ho'. It's specifically designed for all those people who found that getting an average 459 "tweets" a day on Twiiter was not even scratching the surface of their insatiable need for validation from total strangers. Its primary new feature is "ho-bots" which are simulated friends, insdistinguisbale from your "real" friends, which are automatically created at a 10-1 ratio with your real friends. So, if you have 3 actual friends, suddenly your inbox will be filled with requests from other folks, some of whom might even be living breathing humans. I tell ya, it's like heroin. And I think I met this cute girl.

My life sucks bad enough, maybe I'll get around to Twitter sometime. I already do Facebook. I deleted MySpace (too many frickin' kids & spammers).

Unlike SL, I am so not surprised about people who don't get Twitter.

There are two kinds of Twitter users. There are those who tweet, and those who are tweeted at.

My bud back in Baltimore is one of the latter group. He follows Barack, CNN, NPR, his broker and a couple of sports stars (including Shaq) because he wants/needs/has a desire to know what is up throughout the day with these folks. But he himself does not tweet. He's just a guy, he does a job and goes home to his wife, and that's about it.

Then we have Tweeters. I tweet because I have actual friends who follow me, and I have people who like my art who follow me. So, as I come up with ideas, as well as normalcy that happens in my life, I tweet it. I don't typically tweet something unless I actually have something to say, or something that's interesting to me happens.

I don't tell people I'm going to the bathroom, for cripe's sake. Unless, of course, it's an amazing bathroom worthy of a tweet. And then, I'll include a picture.

Now, one of my best friends does not get SL. Doesn't get it, doesn't see it, can't grasp the appeal, none of it. He also doesn't tweet, blog or take pictures. Heck, I'm surprised he uses Facebook and reads his email. And that's cool and all, fine.

But I told him the other day that it would be nice if I didn't have to text him separately from my other friends and family members just because he doesn't want to sign up on Twitter. He was silent for a moment, then said "But, I'm special".

Yeah. That's the sort of friends I have.

I don't Tweet, Plurk, use MyFaceSpaceBook, or read blogs. I sometimes let my email go for days and have never sent a text message on my cell phone, which pretty much stays in my car.

No offense, but I see no use for blogs. The 2 SL forums are all the stream of consciousness I need. I spend too much time on my ever expanding ass looking at them as it is.

I read a select few blogs, a couple by personal friends and a couple that deal in topics I'm interested in by people knowledgeable in the subject. I find they can be as useful as books or other print media, but different because they typically carry newer or more current information. Torley's blog, for example.
