In RL if all your furniture and jewellery disappears, you're the victim of burglars. In SL you're the victim of the asset server.
In RL when beautiful tropical islands disappear without trace it's due to global warming and rising sea levels, or a tsunami. In SL it's due to a metaphorical tsunami, aka an opensim price hike.

In RL if you get a boot up the arse, you've probably just been fired. In SL if you get a boot up the arse, you've probably just teleported.
