"Blingtard" is one of the 7 stages of SL avatar enlightenment. It comes right after noob-with-a-box-on-my-head.

I wonder what the other 5 stages of avatar enlightenment are...
start building ?
settle down ?
...

Any suggestions ?

The 7th and highest stage is the metaphysical state of being know as Chris Norse. So far only I have attained it.

Hmm...I remember learning that necklaces could be fit to my neck as it should be and not floating around my neck and high above my shoulders.

Not sure where it will fall- but: First heartbreak- followed by "I'm going to leave" followed by, "Hell no", followed by moving on with life, followed by second heartbreak followed by "oh well" followed by realization you can't really get your heart broken cause SL is your first love :) and we are damn lucky to have the people to share it all with so enjoy each day as it comes :)

Somewhere ahead of all that was the realization that pose balls exist...ooohhhh

I think that's really subjective. I mean, for me, it was a lot of things having to do with appearance...prim hair, nice skins, Neko bits, good clothes, AOs, etc. On the other hand, someone who's in SL primarily to create content is probably going to have different standards of 'enlightenment.' The complexity of a build, the realism of their custom textures, their first scripting success, and so on.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Besides the Chris Norse stage, there is the point in time when you realize that it's okay to log off sometimes, SL can coexist with RL, it will still be there when you return, and that sleep is necessary and a good thing.

TBO I enjoy the game much less now than I did a year ago. Instead of 'enlightenment' the list should be, stages of ennui

Thats kind of true,

People tend to spend vast amounts of time in SL until the novelty wears off, then people spend less.

Being talked to rather than abused by strangers.
Freebie clothes that don't suck.
new shape - custom face
Prim hair.
Seeing myself "animate" nicely at a club.
Payment info online...

The rest is history.

lol

That in itself can be enlightening. You discover what perspective to put SL into your life.

One of the most enlightening things I ever did was not play for several months. It was incredible.

Of course....I came back

Noob: Hey, I'm fresh off Orientation Island and still can't walk. Wanna see me put a box on my head?

Blingtard: Aren't I glorious in my glitter and high fashion? I spent over $15k L on hair, skins, shoes, clothes, bling and accessories for this avatar.

Homesteader: I have a McMansion that spans half a sim. Come sit on my 200 prim couch.

Builder: I can't believe people build 200 prim couches. What idiots.

Non-human avatar: Dear Gods! I look just like every other avatar in SL. I need to do something creative.

Anti-shopper: I no longer care. I refuse to wear shoes or change my clothes more often than once every 6 months.

Flying Spaghetti Monster: wax on...wax off.

The 7th stage is Ann making pies ;)

lol, I picked up this giant freebie pie from a sim opening...it has four poses so you can sit in it and eat, take a pie bath, or have a couple versions of intimate relations with it. :D

Either way, it's enlightenment of a sort.
