Is that a new feature? I've had 3 logged in at once, a number of times, working on animations, poses, or multi-party scripts.
I've had all 5, but no more than 2 in the same sim at the same time.

Weird. This does not happen to me. I have put 7 alts in the same sim to test performance without any of them being disconnected.

Did you run them on different ports?

I admit, I haven't tried this in a while, I'll have to give it another shot this weekend.

I had four in the same sim using the RC just now. No special settings.

If you own a group its good to have an Alt in it as a 2nd member so you dont have to worry the group has been dissolved one day.

I choose to name my main Alt "Salvador Nakamori" because it was too close to my name, and avoid any confusion's or possible scam's

I guess you haven't, then. :)

It's a setting in one of the preferences tabs, to change the port or range of ports that SL uses to try and get past firewalls. It also avoids conflicts between different instances of the client.

Then I discovered that having more than two alts logged on the same sim from the same computer makes all but two disconnect. There's probably things I can do to fix that, but it's just too much like work.
I had 4 of us at my house once and took a picture. Though we all moved a bit slow, I never crashed.

It wasn't a crash, it was a pretty orderly disconnect.

Mainly because there are still only 24 hrs in a day.

Oh... after thinking it over I decided that ScabrousOozing Scrabblebat was just a tad harsh and have opted instead for...

Varicose Blackheart

If you see a crazy old lady wandering the streets inworld don't forget to say 'hi'.

Hey there young man! Spare a fiver for an old lady?

Hmmmm... seems like logging in as an alt requires a few less bloody marys than I've consumed.

My Alt is having way too much fun, wont come home -- set himself up in a room at Oxbridge, stayed online all day yesterday, hasn't even sent a friend invite to me yet!

Is this common?

Watch the Linden balance. As it dwindles, as the alt pays rent on the Oxbridge room, etc, and suddenly realizes he's out of funds...where else does he have to turn, except for you? Tighten up the purse strings, and he will return. Unless he goes on webcam/voice and does unmentionables for Lindens....Once he finds out he can earn his own money without your input, he may be lost to you. Good luck.....

Would you like to go public on which Lindens enjoy unmentionables on webcam/voice?

The rooms at Caledon Oxbridge are free, though autoreturn is set at about a week.

Doomsday--we've had quite a lot of demand for the free rooms at Caledon Oxbridge. While we are not the alt police, it would really help the non-alt newbies, if your alt could vacate his or hers so that the room would be available for a first time SL resident.

Oh goodness, don't worry... he's not staying. But he did spend quite a bit of time there yesterday showing a few others some basic building techniques and chatting up the ladies....

Thank you very much. We are glad to have anyone helping out new residents at Oxbridge.

You and all the folks behind NCI and Caledon have created the absolute best Orientation I have seen to date at Oxbridge. I learned a few things going through the orientation yesterday, too.
I am recommending it to all new users, or even older users who came in, got intimidated, and ran screaming for the exit. I work with other educators on technology integration and have trouble getting them to consider SL a serious teaching and creative platform.
