had a look, opened up fine for me on first try

but 500L for a shape, isn't that kind of expensive?

I sell mine for 150L (still need to redo those ads dang it, got too busy playing a D&D style game in RL today LOL)

question in general to folks, what do you look for most when looking for shapes?
face? body? back? front? close up of the face shot? etc

for me I like seeing the ads that show a close up front and profile of the faces, then just plain front side and back shots of the body, I think for me when looking at shapes the face takes priority (and yes, definitely mod/copy for backups)

I so need to redo those ads LOL

i could suggest one thing...some prefer copy, so they can include one with each outfit/etc...some want trans. so they can pass it to other people.

I would offer both, if possible ((i.e. one that says mod/copy/no trans and one that says mod/no copy/trans)).

that way, people have a choice.

ok thank you for the tip but i think i'll keep it too No Trans, i think most people would not be bothered with transfer as i would imagine not alot would want too give it away:P

I was also thinking, what if i did like 1 shape as a opening gift (found a mall i can sell in YAY!!), sorta like sell it for 1L for a limited time as a opening gift too get my name around?

Does that sound like a good idea?

That is an excellent idea. And you can drop a note to Cherlindrea Lamont or Hazel Homewood of fabfree.wordpress.com, plus Creamy Cooljoke or Olivia Connaught of slfreestyle.blogspot.com. Lots of people read both blogs and both have groups inworld, so this will give you wide coverage.

Don't forget Fashion Consolidated, another way of getting your name out to lots of people at once. (Hmmm... are shapes considered 'fashion'??)

Demos

Just thought of something....

I never, EVER purchase a shape/skin without trying the demo. Not sure how offering a demo would work with the online services but should be a way to have a demo for 0 or 1L. :)

I'm one of those who doesn't purchase shapes since I had great luck with tweaking my first freebie shape (now have several of them depending on height, wearing a skirt or not, etc.)

But to answer your question - How the face looks is MOST important to me, followed by the general curves of the body (I like the hourglass look) and shapely legs.

Oh and measurements that are proportional. Not quite sure where these way too skinny shapes with sticks for legs, no hips, but watermelon breasts got popular.

Light bulb hit again :p

(Blatant Promotion Alert :p)

I teach a class at ^ASL^ on Personalizing Your Avatar: Ways to Make a Unique Statement. In the class I discuss shapes/skins; how they work together; what to look for when shopping for them, etc. The school, as all schools, have sponsors to be able to offer the classes free of charge.

So, to you, Kagome or anyone who makes shapes/skins (or eyes, hair - anything related to avatar look), becoming a sponsor is another way to get your name out there.
