Shape Business Help??

Ok i'm not really sure if i'm supposed too post this here but i'm gonna try.

Well i've been thinking for a while of trying too make a business in SL and i've been told inworld that my shapes would sell, so i thought i'd have a go.

I'm not really sure where too start though on the business side of things, do you reccomend joining a Mall, adding my shapes onto SLX or Onrez. What prices would i pay too rent, stuff like that really.

and i just wanted too see what people thought off the shape image i place on here and the photoshop tecnique, bearing in mind i am a complete newbie too Photoshop,

So any and all comments would be very good thank you all)

I like the petite facial features, the only thing i cant tell, and most shapes have this prob, is how tall is she? would you package her with a dress form? or different scale heights? I have trouble finding non-amazons and like my avie around 5'4-5'5..... just my pref. Make a few, rent a booth, I think you have a great start.

first i want to say that it's a nice shape, she has a sweet face

I found it helpful at the beginning to put my stuff into SLX and Onrez to get the first money, especially because it does not cost any rent (besides the little space to put the boxes), altough i don't know if shapes are selling at SLX/onrez, because i don't sell them

I am nore sure about the price for rent, it depends on me for different things if the rent is too high or not. Primcount, traffic, is the traffic real or because of campers/lucky chairs/etc., is the store at the end of the lane and nobody sees it or is it near the landing point etc. Hard do say for me in general

OK, liots to cover. Shape is great, but as you are finding out the actual creation is just the begining.

Love the picture and the multiple views. Front, back, portrait and profile; I wish everyone did this.

Th Photoshop works nice and will get better (and easier) quickly with time. I would like to point out a small bit of poor contrast. The dark shorts on a dark background make the lines of the hip not as distinct. But since the points of the hips are a bad spot for the SL viewer to render this may well be to your advantage. In any case, don't worry about it here, just something to keep in mind for later photo work.

OnRes and SLX are getting mre popular all the time. They are easier to navigate and browse for the customers than SL search and besides, it's a free market you would not otherwise have.

Mall space is OK. 200 to 250 L$ per week for 50 prims would probably do you. And as a tip, you don't always have to pay full price. It does not hurt to ask if they can come down a little on the rent or maybe add a few extra prims. I tried to keep 3 or 4 mall stores open and the nicest one was the link in the classifieds and picks. Also, keep a close eye on your income and outflow. If a store is not making it, shut it down and look for another place.

I have seen it before, but never a clue how they decide which is which

I know how to get height, either a height detector or a measuring prim

I forgot to put the height on my shape ads... oops LOL I should redo those one of these days

Ok first question what do you mean by dress form, i'm planning too add the height of the Shape too the Image, still wondering how i can find out how tall she is without using the measurement sliders.

I do plan too make petite size shapes, in fact my own personal shape is petite;P and i'm planning one using her too sell too.

Yosef i'll try too use a lighter colour for my next images, would you reccomend pastel colours or just a white background, with bits added too it?

Face is cute but it's hard to tell how nice the shape is just by a picture. At least the idea of a shapely ass seems to be there.

Please, get some of these flat ass females to get shapes with some ass and hips. They need to stop this fear that having a butt is a bad thing. Get some meat back there and you'll get some soul and rhythm.

Just sent you a copy of a freebie hight detector, just rez it on ground and click it, it will move onto your avatar and give the hight in chat box. Someone gave me it long ago so i have no idea how accurate they are. but thought it might help.

I think a lot of the points about height and cup size are moot since you have made it modify. A lot of folks wont touch a shape if it's not modifiable. I have a shapes shop and I did great putting mine on SLX at first and then eventually I bought a small mainland plot to put up a store.

I never made any L's off renting vender spaces because I never sold enough to justify the rental proces. So.....lots of add boards was the best way to go.....and classifieds. Shapes are tricky.....there was a huge discussion earlier on this board about how 'anyone' can make a shape which is true. But (being a shape maker) it does indeed take a certain artistic eye to create a universaly appealing form. I've received tons of compliments on my shapes and have made a few custom shapes for folks.....but it has never been a huge money making venture. Most people want to make their own shapes......so.....marketing is key here!!

I think it's easier too do a wide variaty Ricardo, not all like nice big bootys, including me though i am making them all modify so if people want too change slightly they can)

What do you mean by add boards and classifieds, do you mean make advertisments on here and if i advertise inworld it is very expensive, how much would you recommend too place weekly on a advert.

The shape and the pics look great. I'm wondering why you are making them transfer, no copy? If I were buying a shape I would want to be able to keep a copy of it in each of my outfit folders. And I don't think I would be wanting to give it to anyone else.

is that not a good idea then?

If I was to buy a shape, I would want it copy / mod..NO Transfer. I like a back up for when I have to make alterations to fit certain clothes!

Or if I am just having a fat day!
