maybe your browser needs to use that upper code and link..i know i had to do that with hyper links on my websites most times It would probably help a whole lot if all browsers actually were in compliance with w3c standards. There's a reason why one specific organization was created to determine standards. Reliability. Instead we have Micro$oft deciding that the standards aren't sufficient, and developing their own ideas and calling them a "standard" because they said so. Netscape goes another direction, also diverging from the w3c standards, and calls their vison "standard." Opera has another idea, so they pursue that. Safari goes a different route. Firefox has their own way of doing things. It renders the w3c completely powerless because they have no authority to ensure that people's browsers work the way the only standards-defining body says they should. Otherwise we wouldn't have this problem, there'd be one way to do it that works for every browser, every time, guaranteed, end of discussion. |

i am wondering if her IMG code is on?
the best way to see is click post then look at the bottom of the screen and you will see a box that says posting rules and it will say if [IMG]code is on or not.. if not you may have to set it to on in your user CP _____________________

I haven't read all the posts but in case it hasn't yet been said...
Surround the url with the img tags and, if the url doesn't already have a ? in it, add one. e.g. http://secondlife.com The ? won't get in the way of anything. Click the Quote button to see it. _____________________

Even in the threads where the link works, and someone says "quote to see"... I quote and still get the clickable link with no formatting in the reply box. I checked my settings; IMG code is on but HTML is off and I don't see any place to turn it on, unless that's the forum setup.

Your test link works fine. I can also see your img codes by clicking the Quote button on your post. We can't turn HTML on, because it's disallowed in the admin setup - same in almost all forums. Weird... I can't even see the IMG code when quoting my own post. I figured as much about HTML. Thanks. |

As Phil already said, the URL needs a ? within the [IMG]tags although ironically supposedly people who lubricate their monkey's then can't see it, which tags apparently take care of, LOL
/me points down to her siggy links which should be clickable for everyone hopefully So [IMG]and add a ? if there isn't one already ![]() _____________________

I'm using Firefox + Greasemonkey and I see all the links except the ones using IMG tags and no question marks. I completely forget HTML is off until one of these threads appears.

/points to sticky "Greasemonkey" thread at top of RA forum That GreaseMonkey script is nice to have, though it falls down miserably in a lot of cases (particularly any url with multiple querystring parameters). It's asinine that we'd have to use such a thing in the first place, and shows me that Linden Lab has a systemic disregard for software quality and a good user experience. . _____________________

I didn't read all the responses, so sorry if this has already been covered. I don't rely on Greasemonkey because only a minority of people have it installed.
The img tags work, but the URL needs to have a ? in it. This is why YouTube links work. If there's no ? in the url, just add one to the end, and it will work. _____________________

I never put a ? and the img tag works for me I don't even see a broken image... just white space in your original post and in the preview of this post. I wouldn't have known it was there until I quoted you and the text of the IMG tag shows in my input box. Edit: I turned off Greasemonkey (in Firefox 3.0) and forced a page refresh... no change, it's still invisible for me. _____________________
