Parts of my family have been in the US for 40,000 years. I get asked to prove it all the time. I'll pass white Russians who can't speak a word of English daily who get treated more like an American than I do.

But my point was that Americans tend to assume everywhere they are is their spot with their rules and that everyone else is an outsider - and that this does carry into SL.

Agreed. YOu leave .01, its saying you know about tipping, you know you feel this is a place where you should tip, and you want to tell that person they aren't worth anything.

you proved your own point
talking in a circle
telling us that Americans tend to assume...
are you not generalizing a large group
in essence bigotry complaining of bigotry
lolz
the irony

I do tip 20% on good service 15% on standard

in SL
I tip venues musicians and hostess

also an American mutt that is not U.S. centric in thinking
tyvm

I tip the live performers if they are really doing a great job and if there is a band, then I tip them all equally. I know some balk about having to pay an admission charge, but I would if I found it to be reasonable.

Sometimes I tip the host and/or the venue where the performance is being held.

The one thing about venues and musicians and tipping is,
the venue pays at least 5k on avg to have one come and play ....not much 20 bucks for there time and what they give.
It just adds up is the thing ... one a week that's $80.00 on top of tier.
My budget is $100.00 a month for shows w/o having to beg for tips ..that's a spam thing that can kill the mood at a show.
So knowing this I think its a good thing to tip the venue for providing the show for all to enjoy and the musician so they will get what they deserve and keep going on playing in SL.
