The only cars in my inventory currently are freebies of various qualities, so I'm curious who makes awesome cars in SL? I mean, top line prim work and non-shitty scripting. Vintage cars are generally preferable, but I'll take a look at anything high quality.
Thanks.

LunaMare Racing makes a good quality race car and excellent after purchase service, also they provide good tracks to race on. I have a 1957 chevy,a 1959 plymouth and 1937 plymouth, all good quality, they are from a different vendor, ahkenatan Grommet, Primouth, Primouth (64, 134, 39) If you search the name above and bring up his profile you will find a LM in his picks

There were a couple of really cool looking cars parked at the Metropolis build at RFL, but I didn't think to jot down the creator, and I don't know if they were even drivable. Anybody know anything about those?

I have a vintage one of AM's...it's simply stunning, and yes, drivable. (Except now most friends are wary of my so-called 'driving skills'.)

Group notifications go out every time I'm seen rezzing a car on the sim where I live! Well, not really... But, yes, I am *that* bad at driving!

From: Ren Austinmer Can't go wrong with Francis Chung's Dominus Shadow. Definitely, it's perhaps not a Vintage style, but it's definitely the SL classic, and the benchmark for seperating between the avarage cars and the quality products.

i dont know... a late 60's fastback is approaching 'vintage'... you are older than you realise! the dominus is a real grid classic though. back when the grid was down every week i would log into the beta grid and play with them along with the cubey vehicles.. From: Marcush Nemeth Definitely, it's perhaps not a Vintage style, but it's definitely the SL classic, and the benchmark for seperating between the avarage cars and the quality products.

So these cars look good - anything to say about function? Everyone is talking about pretty but no one seems to be addressing driveability.
I've had BEAUTIFUL cars that were undriveable because they steered WAY too fast and were no-mod. Some have had throttles that launched me uncontrollably into the next sim at the slightest touch of the arrow key, were no-mod and completely deviod of speed control menus.
"Pretty" alone doesnt cut it, I can buy wall art to fill that purpose. Do they WORK? Can you turn without careening off into a banline? Can you drive SLOWLY enough to manage REAL SL roads (with a draw distance of 128M or less)?
I have found one brand of car which for me works very well in the steering-and-control department, although no one has mentioned this maker thus far. My $L800 Apolon Jeep is actuallly useful - which is more than I can say for several lovely sculpted boondoggles I've paid several times the price for in the past.
Primouth fans, etc, etc, whoever else ... tell me more? Thanks. If others have a car they can drive all the way around Route 2 without problems the way I do in my Jeep, I'm curious to know about them. I'd love to possess some of the awesome sculpted classics rides I have seen but I'm through wasting my $ by buying without a test drive - or at least a decent experienced recommendation.

The LunaMare cars operate perfectly, before i got that one i had one that the first 4 speeds were ok but the next speed shot you like a bullet out of world,i see no sense in making a car to do that. The lunaMare cars have a very nice speed increment, each being slightly faster than the previous speed,as for handling the car does not over steer and responds instantly on tight corners and you can tailor the car to your needs,it also senses your driving and automatically adjust to that. And what is always important to me is the vendor will bend over backwards to look after you .

I've done that any number of times on route 1 in any manji car. the haru cars are more for highspeed racetracks... 12 gear manual transmission, adjustable traction control and aerodynamic downforce, etc etc...

I do not know if it can get around Route 2 without problems, as I have never been there as far as I know. But I did not have any problems in my Primouth driving all over Route 1. Zindra, though, no problems if I drive on the grass, but the roads are insane. Stupid divider in the middle of the road, and I think the roads are on sim borders. And I know the intersections, at least some, are at the corners of four sims.

I thought most of AM cars were over primmed to be driveable?
