I guess I am one of those folks who saw the notice of this concert and wandered into SL for the first time. Interesting place but I am only slowly learning how to move around here. I found the location and did their little video check but the "concert hall" seems to be still under construction, just brick walls above the stairways.
Anyway, I signed up for a ticket; do you really think more than 100 folks will actually be in their lottery? I did not know about the AV limit. I also wondered about the time of the event but was hoping it was UK time and therefore in the afternoon where I am.

If the members of the orchestra have avatars (not sure they will), then there will be no room for an audience. *laughs*
Yahoo had an annoucement of this on their front page about a week ago.

They should have their orchestra set up one the edge of one region, and their audience area just over the border in the adjoining region. Kinda similar to the Pooley stage. Mari

Yahoo had an annoucement of this on their front page about a week ago. Wouldn't it be a riot if they showed up as Ruth...with their instruments up their butts.

I registered for the ticket draw & trying to decide if my application was succesful. I got this email;
"I am away from the office at the moment. I will return on 30 August 2007. If your email is urgent please contact ********** at **********@liverpoolphil.com Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society A Company Limited By Guarantee"
Which is not quite what I expected as I assumed an automated response. Anybody receive anything similar?

If any of us does get selected, let's keep the rest posted on how it goes! And don't forget to detatch EVERYTHING. (One thing I've noticed is that people will turn their ao's off, but the script is still running...)

From: Pratyeka Muromachi Apparently, they don't realize the limitations of SL regarding the number of concurrent AV's in any given sims. I predict a big reality check barrelling down on the organizers... Actually there is new technology being developed (not sure exactly how well it is working yet) that uses to bots to exactly mirror another avatars interaction, so that audiences at several stages on several sims can all experience the same thing at the same time. While still not creating one huge audience, on first glance it seems a reasonable compromise and does break the limits for participating audience.

I think the problem may have to do with a full orchestra being composed of over 50 people. So the sim is pretty full with just the orchestra alone.
