So, it seems that the new adult continent is going to be called Ursula.

What the heck do the Lindens think they're doing to the sims around secondlife://Ursula%2056 ? It looks like one of those ugly-ass private estates with hundreds of flat square islands.

Right now I see a regular naming convention - rows of 24 sims, with only the first 13 currently existing in each row.
They're down to row #11.

Presumably, LL have done some database work to determine, for instance, the total area of parcels that are flagged to be shown in Search and also contain objects created by the leading makers of naughty things....

It would be interesting to see just how big they intend Ursula to be at the time they start strong-arming people to move their operations.

If I were running an Adult (as will be defined ) Mainland parcel in a scenic location, I'd be concerned that such a location might not be available in Ursula - even at a price.

When does this place open up?

When do they start kicking down virtual doors and evicting people into the Triple-X Wasteland?

I guess Pornopolis is not on the map to cater to admirers of beautiful scenery. Anybody pursuing steamy, x-rated activities is not supposed to have time and inclination to admire the landscaping.

You ever heard the question "does a bear sh!t in the woods?"

It's pertinent in more ways than one.

It's possible that the Ursula team believes that Ugly is what 'those' people deserve.

(Operating on the assumption that "URSULA" is an acronym, sort of, for "U R Such Undesirable Lecherous A-Holes". Or something like that.)

(note: I have no Adult business nor have I ever gotten around to patronizing any, so I don't have a dog in this fight. I just like looking for sort-of acronyms to fit the situation at hand.)

Really? I'm operating on the assumption that someone in LL is a James Bond fan.

what bothers me is i see buildings there already. and if thats all the bigger its going to be they and we are in for a rude awakening on land. 4 of those sims wil have my name on them at least.

multiply that times thousands
of us and thats going to be a problem.

and how...
how did you find out where it was?

Blondin Linden has more or less confirmed it in the merged thread.

The first 120 Ursula regions appeared on the grid 22nd Jan this year (the other 26 2 days later) , though the basic terrain landscaping could be previewed in the Leo region (search for leo1 in the map) earlier than that . The 1st 9 Leo regions date back to July last year - The other 18 were added in December.

The Leo regions seemed to have been used as a scale model for the Ursula region You can still see the Ursula main river feature replicated in them. Back in January the first 9 Leo regions were a complete scale map of what is now the Ursula regions, however since then the first 9 Leo regions have changed, maybe another Gaeta island continent ? .

I first reported these here http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/business-land-economy/8523-new-second-life-sims-past-12.html#post567564

Could be. Certainly, they were never going to follow any of the facetious suggestions in various Forums threads and name it Pornotopia or such. (Though I still think "No-Tell SL" could have been an appropriate choice.)

Google (and probably other search engine) searches turn up about equal references to Ms. Andress and to the repellant purple monster from Disney's "The Little Mermaid." Which of them was the true inspiration? We may never know.

Are we certain Ursula is not some venture by a major private landlord? Is it definitely part of the new adult continent?
