Please add to this if you know of any I've missed that are freely available. I made about 200 that I will try to get packed up this weekend, but it looks like most of them are duplicates of sizes other people already did. FREE MEGAPRIM PACKS Parcel-Sized Prims Collection 0.5 (2080 prims) created by Day Oh http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=685589("So since I've often seen people saying 'I wish there was a prim that can precisely cover my parcel,' I decided to compile this collection of prims, one for each possible size of rectangular or square parcel." 329 Megaprims from Ceera Murakami (329 prims) Created by Ceera Murakami http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=695379("I tried to make this set so it includes a wide range of useful sizes and shapes." Zwagoth MegaPrim Pack (~4000 prims) Created by Zwagoth Klaar http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=686175(Zwagoth's original megaprims, plus compliation. Contains packs of megaprims from Cale Flanagan, Dawn Ireton, Bee Vollmar, Christy Mansbridge, Renee Roundfield, Moy Loon, Day Oh, Annabelle Babii, and Nectere Niven.) The Vengeance Megaprim Collection (2793 prims) Created by Anya Ristow http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=696706(Lots of Box, Column, Thin Column, and Flat Panel shapes.) 689 All New Huge Prims (689 prims) Created by Winter Ventura http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=695898("Floors, Walls, Fences, Platforms, Panels, Cubes, Rectangles, Bricks, Blocks, and all sorts of goodies. [...] By and large, I stuck to the following "constant" sizes: 11-32, 35, 40, 45, 50, 52, 60 & 64." Includes remakes of most of the original Gene Replacement dimensions.) Huge Prims 50xx x 50x by 5's (~200) Created by Zen Zeddmore http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=696213(Megaprims in 5m increments up to 50x50x50.) 140 or so Full Permission Prims (~140 prims) Created by Gene Replacement http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=247261(Original Gene Replacement megaprims. Many are larger prims that were cut/dimpled/etc. to get the different shapes and sizes, so it is best to use May 2008 prims instead, if available.) TOOLS Megaprim HUD Created by BETLOG Hax http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=697057(Searches linked sets of boxes containing megaprims for the desired prim size.)

Why do these links allways go to the "todays' popularItems " page? I end up having to copy the content makers name and do a seach in the market for them. grrrr.
My own link too... LOL.

Y'know it seems to me that the pandora's box of mega prims has been opened. There doesn't seem to be any more reason to keep it closed. Thanks for the listing and thanks to those who went and made all these prims!

Cool, I can't help thinking we should name the new prims something different than mega prims because they have major physical differences and from what I gather are much better then their predecessors.

Only 82 (I think) boxed up on my porch at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Clay/116/39/151Given the number listed here already, I doubt I made anything that isn't already available, but you're all welcome to them.

Inworld locations would be good too as my avatar can't afford internet access Did anyone make a 10.2m cube and probably a 20.4 m cube so we coluld use them to make room corners without the taper section showing? Probably cube would be too tall, average room heights might be better. Damn always think of these things after the train has left :/ Hmm durr, I just realised I can do the same trick with larger prim sizes instead

FYI - The megaprim pack that Carl made is also available on SLX, via my SLX vendor.
Personally, I plan on keeping most of my megaprim sets securely boxed up, and not loose in my already overflowing inventory. In fact, I may create an alt to serve as a repository for all the ones I have collected... Then I can browse the alt's inventory, and pass the ones I need from him to me.

It may be worth noting that LL is *not* pleased with the availability of the new megaprims: http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/05/13/bugfix-121-server-deploy-tue-0513-thu-0515/#comment-606516Prospero's hints at the possibility that the megas may be deleted may just be a way to limit their further spread, but at least it makes it very clear that it was *not* the first step in releasing megas officially which just happened to be discovered a little too early. On a related note, various comments on the blog and the office hours seem to indicate that with Havok4, there are no longer any real technical issue with the physics of megas. It is now purely a social issue, with their potential for harassment. It does make me wonder why megas are considered such an exceptional threat that they warrant special code for handling the social aspects before they can be released; it is not like we don't already have lots of things which can be misused, and which are governed under normal ARs and general social responsibility. I don't subscribe to the "LL is doing it just to spite us, because they are evil and/or clueless" theory, so there must be some reason why they are *that* wary of megas. I just don't see what it is.

LOL. If you are using the GreaseMonkey script that (Strife?) made, it's because the links end up having the text '&' in the address instead of just a plain '&' character. If you hand-edit the address it'll point you in the right direction. .

I just don't see what it is. They may fear that with so many useful sizes people will build huge things on the mainland on small plots, rendering mainland even uglier than it is. I can easily picture anything below cloud level being a patchwork of walls that essentially eliminates open spaces, and huge floating things gobbling up the sky. This is my fear, anyway, and it was already approaching this with the old megaprims. I, the creator of 2793 of the new megaprims, would gladly sacrifice my stash of megaprims if they'd all, including the old ones, just disappear. But as long as we're going to have them they might as well be useful to *me*. That's why I created my set. I think a perfect social and technical fix would be to limit prims to the smallest dimension of your parcel. So, on a 512 starter parcel you could use 16m prims, and on a 4x4 parcel you couldn't use prims with any dimension greater than 4m. This would also further reduce the problem of extortion farms.

It also occurred to me that the hole may have been opened for somebody's buddies to take advantage of, with the intent that it'd be closed before the rest of us riff-raff found out about it, but that we found out, anyway.

I can't see them doing away with the new ones. They are so much better than the old ones, because of their bounding boxes, and they are used a lot even now.

I reckon it's the parcel encroachment issue. They may want to try to get that completely sorted before a general "let 'em rip" signal. It would be actually quite good to add If it's not rezzed and within the land you own it should not rez at all. That would eliminate most of the griefing issues. That, and the damn mini map.

well I doubt they can completely stop "encroachment on rez".. but they can surely deal with "build encroachment" and "move encroachment".. Once "larger than 10" becomes "legal", people will still start with a .5 cube. They'll just be able to make it quite long. So I guess the real issue is just determining whether the prim's edges are trying to go past the border.
in all honesty, I'm not sure that encroachment is as big of a problem as they think. I mean yes, it happens from time to time on the mainland.. but for the most part, people seem really civil on estates. Without encroachment, a lot of the bridges would vanish. A lot of the cool things you can do with subparcels would vanish. On the plus siude, keyholing on the mainland might be stopped.. but it's actually more likely to create BIGGER PROBLEMS with keyholed parcels. Imagine not being able to rez your house because a keyhole prevents it.
