Really my intent was to hear an assessment of our world from another person's perpective. One thing is for certain - very few younger "players" are on the forums since this has kinda disintegrated from what I was interested in discussing into a slap-stick routine that leaves younger players/forum users like myself kinda wondering about you older folks. It is like watching Monty Python, sometimes, and wondering what all the fuss was about. Ah, well, ne'er mind, eh?

We "old people" are not responsible for "younger people" who have not yet developed a sense of humor.

Thankfully younger people are inventing real humour - you just dont get the jokes. :)

If I recall, there are some that arent much older than those leaving the TG that posted, but I'm too old and lazy to go through the thread and look again. :p

ETA; Does anyone know the answer to what I asked earlier btw?? Do teens own land on the TG and what happens when they move....is it safe to assume they dont ever buy islands? Always been curious about how that works but not being a teen, never even visited the site!

It's the only way we can seem to get you youngsters to go away since we can't just give you all 5 bucks to go to the movies.

You are officially "old" the day you get annoyed by the music "younger" kids are listening to and start wanting to yell "turn that crap DOWN."

Oh good - hasn't happened to me yet, so there's a good chance it never will! :D

I didnt say all young people don't have a sense of humor.

I just said for those who don't yet - its not our fault.

I missed it happening, when did we get old....younger vs older, when do you go from being a younger to an older.

The morning that your Mom/Dad is suddenly staring back at you in the mirror.

I'm pretty much an older person myself, and the slap-stick routine leave even me wondering. It's really annoying sometimes the way what might be interesting threads get hijacked by the usual suspects with their cutsie banter. And it really does get a bit repetitious after a while.

A bit of fun is fine, but it really is bad manners to deluge and derail someone else's thread like this. Oh for a resmod that had the courage to slap down the regulars once in a while :-\

I kept returning to this thread in the hope of getting a glimpse of what a new resident from the teen grid might think of it all, but all I see is 'me, me, me ...'

Hehe - since I've possibly only got a few left, that's unlikely :D But then I choose to get to know and appreciate the music of all decades (hmm... in terms of appreciation though, I'll take the current decade over the 80s any day). I'll just keep changing with the music.

Agreed - seems to be happening more and more, although I can't claim to be completely innocent of it. But the depths to which forum discussion sinks sometimes is more akin to 4th grade playground antics, and some thread responses (not referring to this one) are positively visceral, so I can understand why new players might prefer to steer clear.

However, I also wonder how many former Teen Grid players even visit the forums, given that the majority of long-standing residents don't bother to come here either?

All this talk of when you stop being 'young' and become 'older' or 'old' is also irrelevant. The number of years you've been alive is a pretty meaningless yardstick. There are plenty of wise heads on 'young' shoulders, and plenty of 'older' folk with no grace, dignity, or common sense whatsoever. Same for humour - you've either got a good sense of it, or you ain't. Besides, one person's idea of funny is another's long yawn or bewildered look - age has no bearing on it.

I wish more recent immigrants from the Teen Grid WOULD post; I'm sure we could learn much from them, as they could from us - knowledge being a two-way street and all that. :)
