Newly Arrived Ex-Teen-Griders

Okay, just an idea for a thread here, but what do newly arrived people (who used to be on the teen-grid) think of our stuffy old world?
If it comes to that, what do other 18-20 year olds think of us? I am not that much older myself but am interested in all opinions.

What's with the old people obsession with pie?

It's easy to eat with dentures.

Yeah, what is this PIE thing???? I am glad someone else mentioned it coz I have been confused about it for months.

Basically impossible. Between the gooey goodness and the crunchy top, dentures do not have a chance.

Okay so basically the differences are that older SL members are food-oriented "cozy" huggers and younger people couldnt give a toss and take care of their figures.

Except for strawberry and blackberry. Those damn seeds. When I was a boy, we didn't have seeds in our fruit. It was mushy and seedless and it tasted like dirt, but we ate it anyway because we'd catch a whipping if we didn't. And we chased hoops around with sticks and the boys wore knickers and everything was black and white because color hadn't been invented yet.

I don't know what they think. If I recall what being young was like, I considered people my age to be an entirely different species. We had so little in common, it was like looking at monkeys at the zoo. They're sort of people-shaped, but they aren't really people. I doubt they're terribly impressed by us. I hope they're more impressed with our world, though. From what I understand, it's very different than the teen grid. I also hope they would take their time and not rush into everything like I would have. Just like everyone else who is brand new, they need to get their feet wet slowly, figure stuff out, and then worry about owning land, selling things, etc...

Nah.... Us "older" SL residents have gained the maturity to know that time is valuable and pie is a far more enjoyable use of that time than drama is

That's IT? Those poor kids, no wonder they sneak over here to play. I could explore that in a weekend. They probably do it in an afternoon, and then say, "I'm boorrred."

Trout, we old...uh, "mature" people...can tell the kids to take it easy and slow until Hell sells snowcones, but they won't listen. Did you? Youth is brash, exuberant. It takes risks. Kids take life in big bites. Sometimes it gives them an upset stomach, and we call that "experience".

But that's OK. If everybody believed the people who say, "that can't be done", nothing would ever change.

The youngsters...brash, impolite, impatient, and full of energy...are the ones who will make our virtual worlds, in the end. All we can do is wind 'em up and watch 'em go. And try our best to keep up.

It's not just the tweens, when I joined and began wandering around,
and I am not a teen ager, I was like wth it's like some mom and dads' yard sale exploded in here.
Maybe it's their hyped expectations too of the "ooo ahhh the adult grid!"
and oh this isn't so "w/e" after all and man it's work, so let's just be f-heads 'till we settle.

I could really go for a nice crunchy carrot right about now.

We're supposed to like pie? I must have missed that seminar when I took that extra long workout at the gym.

Ha ha I'm doing the detox diet for two weeks. It suuuuuuuhhuuuuucks. But after only a few days I'm already feeling healthier. That's one thing the teen grid probably doesn't talk about as much; I bet their late night parties aren't quite as fun as ours...

Since no one has posted a direct anser, I can say that one of the most common excuses I've heard for for why teens come to the adult grid to play is that the teen grid is a nightmare of grifing, spam and crap builds. I mean think of the worst mainland area mainland but 10x worse. Or maybe just think about "Lord of the Flies". I would think that most of them think "Thank ghod, some sanity at last!" even with the level of grifing, spam and crap builds that we have no the adult grid

Can't you have slice of sugar free chocolate cheese cake? There some great sugar free recipes out there.

well i was never on the teen grid, but i missed it by 6 months. i don't think if any of the people on the main grid as 'old' hell, i don't consider my grandma old and shes bloomin 70!!! lol
anyway, i like pi...pieces of fruit (nearly Lindal hehe).... as much as anyone. you guys aren't allowed to hog all of it

Besides, im sure the teen grid is nothing compared to the fun at the hangout lol
