I'm most disappointed, I read two pages and there was no mention of the spelling mistake in the poll.

Cuz Scylla mentioned it herself by editing her first post:

(With apologies for the misspelling of "devastated" in the poll! EEEP! )

Chris's tender attentions might do Eli a world of good.

I'm sure Chris will be very gentle. But it won't last. These romances cooked up at weddings and receptions never do.

Unless one of them catches the garter, of course . . . ;)

Scylla? Have Gnahs Sed's Devon people contacted you yet about your hush hush adoption? I'm afraid you are a triple national. Jig has been trying to confuse everyone for our convoluted familial privacy. As the real story goes I am styled after the Duchess of Devonshire more so than Moll Flanders! Shh.

The truth is much more O'Malley-esque but that is of course for the privy chamber alone ;)

No, not yet! How excitingly exotic!! I always KNEW my parentage was different and exciting!

BTW, not that I'm competitive or anything, but can you just confirm for me . . . Jig is the "bad" daughter, right? The troublemaker? And I'm the "good" daughter??? :D

How awkward...a certain Governess may have been hired and may have certain obligations to me in addition to her employer. According to the preliminary report, "Jig is the precocious, flirtatious baby and Scylla is the wiser, steely eyed elder. Both have the capacity to excel in their new and proper stations. Neither is permitted to have the option of complacency entitled to a spoiled only child of nominal merchant class origin. Jig, of course, may rebel. According to Scylla's initial psych exam, she will gather the switch and choose a very fine instrument, indeed. Given suitable tutelage, both have the potential to be molded into fine heiresses to the family's honor and position."

What wallops you pass between yourselves is your business as long as you maintain decorum in public. Think of Caledon, ladies ;)

I can think of two young ladies who might benefit from that intellectual challenge. Particularly if a certain Welsh Latin Master were engaged.

Unfortunately, I have heard a rumor of what certain young women are like when they emerge from the convent school. Are you sure you are brave enough to undertake that process start to finish?

Maybe there is a nice Swiss sim to send them to for a year or two, instead?

I've always wanted to be "steely eyed"! You can be sure that I'll do my best to tame Jig's wild soul . . . alas, from whence can she have inherited such a predisposition for folly and exuberance?

I have been meaning to ask you if this locket, which I have carried with me since but an infant, might have any bearing upon my obscure birth and early childhood?

Your nurse will explain it to you when you are ready to understand, but the inheritance of Jig's propensity for exuberance, folly, and your locket may be connected.

Behave or it is the convent for you, rather than Switzerland. The old dear can only juggle so many shocks at once.

Very well, Mamma. :)

In the meantime, I'll just keep this locket safe, shall I . . . ? On the offchance that it should prove useful on day . . .

As a way of gauging who is "in" and who is "out" in this, our little forum community, I thought I'd post this poll. Laurin's nuptials with Pep are BOUND to be the social event of the year, so it's hard to imagine a better way to establish one's relative social status than by the appearance of that tidy little vanilla-coloured embossed invite in your PM box!

If you aren't too afraid to be outed as someone who didn't make the guest list ("There, there, dear! I'm sure it's still in the mail . . .";), let us know whether you've received an invite or not! And what your thoughts on the future of this glamorous pairing is likely to be!

(With apologies for the misspelling of "devastated" in the poll! EEEP! )

1. How much you getting paid for this cause you can't be real?

2. Either you're one of these two people's alt or insanely delusional. I choose either one.

When first I began reading this I quickly and sarcastically said to myself, "This person has got to be joking." But then I realized where it was I was reading at and it all came a round full circle.

So pardon me. Continue...

Uhhhh . . .

Actually, you get full points for "This person has got to be joking." As even a reasonably quick perusal of the thread would have informed you.

But that's alright. Far be it for me to stand in the way of your opportunity to inject a bit of uncalled-for and unnecessary personal abuse into the thread. :)

Yes, and as luck would have it, bankers also. Do have them look into the Great Darwinian Cloning Scandal, c summer '09 while they are authenticating your locket.

Sigh. If it all had to come out, better now than at the alter when the, "Speak now or forever hold your peace" was declared. That would have been truly embarrassing, particularly with Babbage, Winterfell etc in attendance.
