That sounds like you have been "ghosted". A server reset will fix you right up. Let LL know what server you were on when you logged off it it was mainland and they will reboot it. If it was estate land then you need to contact the estate owner to get the sim rebooted..
If you have an alt then see if you can log in as your alt. If so try to drop something on yourself, or pay yourself 1 linden, that will sometimes cause the server to finally notice that you are not really there.

When I see the wind starting to switch direction, I log out.  and just for the record...East is sucking and West is blowing. |

But usually the first thing to try is to clear cache (from Edit / Preferences / Network tab), and restart.
If you can't even get the login screen to appear, you may have to take more drastic manual measures (but then it will help to know which operating system you're on). Hey don't blame vampires for sl sucking and crashing. Welcome to the world of Second Life; a place that loves to lag and crash, and kick you off if you don't leave a sim before it restarts. Clear cache often. Seems to help. |
