Hi,
Not long ago I met a female in SL with whom I ended-up spending some time. The more we interacted, the more I experienced a vague feeling that I "knew her" already. In other words, the avie/person I had already known may have approached me as her alt without telling me. I finally asked her about this, and she said, "No." But I definitely have my doubts.
Has anyone experienced this type of thing in SL?

If it is someone I know well, I can usually spot the alt. Unless they work at it, speech patterns remain the same. Think does she use the same expressions as someone else you know? Do the groups show any common themes with someone you know?

I have had this feeling before about various people in SL. It can be very hard to prove, and impossible to verify. But then again, I'm probably a bit paranoid.

Trust until you have a reason not to.
This is the best advice I can give you. Until you can definitively prove otherwise, all you are doing right now is sabotaging whatever relationship you may have. If you don't care and it's just pixels, that's your choice, but it is hurtful to be accused of being someone else when it isn't the case, and the relationship means something. _____________________

having been recently accused as being or having an alt that i wasn't just be careful. If the person says no beileve them unilt you believe otherwise. There seems to be a lot of this going around and to be honest me no like. Also does it really matter as it seems as you like this person so meh?
In any case I guess maybe i dont worry or think of things so much as honesty maybe I dont care, but such things never cross my mind unless its related to forum stuff and someone obviously acting and was obnoxious to start with. If they were a friend does it matter if they now have a different name especially since you like this version of them  meh I know anyone accused of being me is probably insulted ^^ I know i get insulted being accused of being some other guy as well so be careful they may actualy not be an alt _____________________
I know the competition that will come along someday is learning from LL's mistakes. But do they have to make so many? |

I just relate to the character presented, but yah alts pop up on me
and I am thinking 'ojeeze alt drive by' and don't say anything, is kinda funny, ppls do have tells or can't stand it and keep dropping blatant hints while I blink doe eyed. If you can deal with the doubt - accept it and enjoy the relationship. If you can't then end it politely and respectufully. Realize that this is YOUR issue, not your friend's, there is no way to actually verify the identity either way.
