Showing my ignorance - what's the difference between:

k
kk
kkk

Are there difference levels of OK-ness?

For me I use k and kk interchangeably, and sometimes I use k when i try to type kk =P

I never use kk because well.. bad things are associated with it =P

KK is shorthand for ok :)
kkk is like when you're being nagged to take out the rubbish "okay, okay, okay!"

My first month in SL was really difficult due all those "brb, ty, cy, wb, ty" and all that stuff... English isn't my mother tongue, so imagine... They don't teach these things at school!! LOL

Ty for the list, Chance ^^ Nowadays I knew most of them, the most often used ones, but anyway will keep it in mind ^^ Great work!! ^^

oh, before I forget!!

'fl' can also be 'friend list' ^^

I say kk in RL anyway.

For those who have trouble with what people are saying, it can be pretty easy to work some stuff out.
l8r is obvious, later , just say it as you see it. Some are very simple.
the abbreviations like brb and stuff can be a bit more difficult, as they can mean allsorts. Especially when you throw typos into the mix ;) but generally just ask and peeps will tell you.
It took me forever to work out QFT and YMMV. I ended up searching in the urban dictionary lol. :o

Right, folks - next non-main thread but associated sort of question..........
How do I get the various smileys into the text? If I select one at the bottom of the screen it's entered as a heading, not part of text. Do I need to know the keyboard representation of all the various expressions?
And if so, what are they?

For the forums:
http://forums.secondlife.com/misc.php?do=showsmilies

I asked the same question not so long ago and got pointed there ;)

The bottom ones are just to put by the side of your title. There are keyboard shortcuts for each smily. some are more complicated than others, but that link should help :)

Never heard either of those before - the last one is brilliant - not that I would ever use it... lol
