I have a really cute sculptie cat from Zooby's, you can set a 'patrole' for them, so they walk a set route whether you are there or not, randomly stopping to meow, lie down, purr etc. Really cute, & great customer service from Zooby's too

Raymond has a crab sandpatch where sex is allowed - - apparently.
It is said not to be as popular as expected. His crabs don't stay there. His crabs attempts to be somewhere else are becoming legendary. The answer is simple. Provide your pets with a stimulating environment, and they will stay around. I mean..... duh! |

It appears from this thread that animals running rampant in SL is a major problem. I hope that those who have started fire departments and vigilante forces will look at this and create animal enforcement. Build a couple of pounds and begin euthanasia and hopefully we'll see a decline in this serious matter.

Since you set the patrol path, it never leaves the property - even though it can wander from the path a few meters occasionally. I also have a fabulous hummingbird from Animania, right across the way from Zooby's. You can set how far it will wander from its rez point. Otherwise, it seeks out the nearest avatar and buzzes around them. Very cool. And, of course, I had to get the huge whale from Splash. Again, you can create 'waypoints' for it to follow so it won't wander off your property. I got it to swim all the way around the island. I love it when it gushes water from its blow hole! |

but do subs stay on your land when you leave? i suspect they go shopping and dancing. I permit mine to go shopping and dancing if they wish, subject to my limits. But going back to the main topic, I have a (non-neko) cat that hangs around but the script seems erratic. I'd like to find a better one. |

I had a wandering cat, but it meowed constantly in this really grating pitch and kept coming back to my inventory. I stick with a wearable pet dragon now.

Jez,
I have a Black Panther and a Tarn. The Black Panther tends to wander when I log out (caught him harassing the neighbors once) so I usually put him back into inventory or delete him ~sniffs~ he can follow, wander or attack....I wish he had a lay down command for when I logged out...hehe I also have a prim Koi that you might be interested in for your pond. Not sure where I got him off of the top of my head (Supa Shang?) but I can check when I get in world later today. |

One Forum member came over for a visit and gave me the fattest black cat ever. Was a wearable cat, not one that roamed around, and it was the size of a goat. We had a laugh. Thanks for all the tips, I am still looking. Any one want to go pet shopping with me. I will be nice! _____________________

I have Finn, an Irish Wolfhound who I found at Penny's Pets. He always finds a nice spot to sit or somewhere to lie down at my place at Aswang before I log off, always a different spot as he likes a bit of variety. He is always there when I return. He was lost only once, but that was my fault. I had left him when he was at heel with me, and he thought he had lost me! Awwww. He sent me endless messages to tell me he was lost, but he wasnt really - it was me that was lost from him. He knows now not to stay at heel with me when I go offline.
I have to say that the help you get from Penny is terrific. She has an amazing array of pet animals, wild animals, birds, so many different kinds of things - well worth a look. At my beach home in Nuclear I have Crusty the Crab and he scuttles about far and wide over my land (he is meant to do that - but I think he is trying to avoid the falling coconuts, lol) and so far, he has never wandered away from there. I have various other animals on my land (not all animated) but they all stay. IM me inworld if you want details of where I got some of these animals - hey, why not come and visit, but watch your toes with Crusty! |

I have a pre-historic Mamouth that stands about 10 meters high at the shoulder and constantly runs amuck (amok?). His footsteps are really loud.
He comes equipped with something like 5000 damage points. Don't let him step on you, and bring a big gun. And yes, he will wander off--I had to build up ridges around my land to keep him from going off world. I named him "Target". |

I have a really nice horse from...um, I think it's Mclean's or something like that, that doesn't count against my land prims when I ride him as he's considered an attachment to ride (but I have to make sure my AO is turned off), but he also comes with a standing and grazing version that I can set out on my land. Those versions are close to 100 prims, though, so I usually have to take something else to let him out to eat.....lol. I love him, though!
