Gosh, I hate to ask a stupid question, but I don't know what's wrong. Lately in "appearance mode" I'm always only seeing my backside. I have to use my camera to see the face or frontside. What has changed?

same

can tell u it isn`t ur ao, walk ani shoes, hair or some 1 peaking in
clearing cache won`t help either

all i can tell u from expirience is that it`s the client doing a random chance of normal appearance rotating

Take off any shoes with built in animations, or AO Overrides that have Stands, or Wlaks built into them, you will stand as Normal after that.

not even that helps for me but as it`s just a cam rotate, can`t be botherd that much compared with the other things

I had nothing at all on.....I recently made an alt and it too had the same problem. I'm always facing directly to the backside of my head.

mine has been to the back, or side. if i sit/stand on something, stand up, use my camera to zoom around and then zoom in to my front or back, then when in appearance it will go to the front... sometimes...

Yes - I've had the same problem recently. Usually I end up with a back view - not quite directly behind. It's ok to get round it by rotating the cam, UNLESS I am trying to change my face (and frankly it needs some adjustment...)
I took off my AO which didn't make any difference. Interestingly it seems ok now - I did change my shape and skin and I wonder if that was what did it.

This has happend lately to me too.
Instead of using camera, if i am to fiddle a little while, I use a posestand. If its just for a quick correction, camera is ok.
If you dont already have one, there is a free one in my shop. Look in my picks for a where to pick it up.

this is a bug that was fixed but isn't anymore. like also this weird shifting of your feet due to the animation overriders - they fixed it but it's back.

My 2cents

I have had this problem too. The solution that has worked for "me" is to close down photoshop and relog (or reboot). So for me personally I have attributed this issue to lack of resources slowing my computer down....or something like that (not a pc smarty)....

BTW my system has only 512 Ram and a 128 ati card.

Maybe I'm way off track, but it works for me.....altho having to jump through all the hoops is certainly no fun :(

The most liberating moment for me as a newbie came AFTER I had spent 7 hours trying to Edit Appearance from the wrong angle. I found you can have your camera controls on the screen at all times and that they are the ONLY way to rotate the view in Edit App.

Since then, they have never been off my screen...

There is a little-known checkbox in Preferences/Input & Camera/Camera Options called "Automatic Appearance Camera Movement."

I highly recommend you un-check that if you wish to control how your avie appears in the "Appearance" mode.

I had the exact same experience--except for a much longer time. A friend finally instructed me on the camera controls.

I've tried taking off any attachments, doesn't help.

I turn about 90 degrees and stop. When I close the "appearance" window, then I finish the 180 degree pose, and back out of it.

This drives me crazy. None of the workarounds are working this time BUT be of good cheer people. Might be one of the fixes in this upgrade?

(The glass is half full. What with tho?)

I don't understand the problem you all are having. Don't you get that little magnifying glass with the plus on it that you just click on yourself and move to where you need to be?

I notice that when you choose a new category to edit, like "pants" it usually zooms in too far. But it still only takes 2 milliseconds to fix it, between the magni-glass thing and the camera controls. What am I missing?

i have had this problem also since day one, with or without my AO attatched, I didnt realise it was supposed to be any other way until i think once or twice, when it turned forward facing for me. I have gotten used to having my camera controls out all the time, and just use the rotate to zip myself around.

Its strange hey how some of us have this and some of us dont

that is not the point - you are supposed to be facing forward, and the previews are messed up because you are not facing forward. It's a bug that was "fixed."

Used to be when you click on appearance, your avatar would turn 180 degrees (facing the camera) and spread their arms a little. Now, I turn about 90 degrees and end up with one leg slightly bent with my hands at my side.

When I close appearance, *then* I go into the 180 degree arms-spread pose, then spin back around away from the camera.

Hmm, and appearance seems to over-ride other anims. Anybody have any work-arounds?

The previews are what bothers me - not having been round very long, I'm still getting used to what all the tools in there do, and it's a pain that I'm looking at the back of my head all the time. Although, and not for the first time, I feel better now that I've read other people are having the same thing and it's not some obscure thing I've done.

Same thing has been happening to me for a while now. At first I thought maybe I was too close to a wall or other objects so I moved to a spot where there was nothing around me but it still did the same thing, had me facing backwards.
I asked someone to tell me how I looked when I went into appearance and was told I looked the way I was suppose to, with both arms extended outwards but it's not the way I saw myself.
Now to wait for a fix on this matter. And knowing the way things operate here, this will be another long wait.

You guys are all better than me. I am still facing the right way in appearance mode, except my head is on backwards!
