I always use folders but in fatpacks, I put actual boxes. The reason for this is because when the items go into the box from a folder, there is no folder there, just the list of items. So if an outfit consists of 5 parts (just a good number for example) and there are 4 complete outfits in the fatpack, then I believe the buyer would receive a folder containing 20 things, all in alphabetical order (in other words, not grouped by color or whatever). The first time I bought a fatpack of something in a folder, I looked at the like 50 things in the folder, went home, and changed my fatpacks from folders to boxes.

From: Looli Vella Ah, but it is worth the humiliation of having a billboard on your head? *grins* Ah, those were the times! Good thing is that a) default attachment point is now the right hand, no longer the head, and b) you can choose attachment point when right-clicking in inventory and going for "attach to".

lol, wow thank you it seems folders is the way to go, I had recently begun doing just this so people could see what is in them instead of just one item... Great response thanks guys!

If the items are copyable, then I much prefer having a packaged master copy that I can rez over and over again as needed to unpack a fresh and unaltered set.
If the item is no-copy, or has no-copy elements, I would just as soon get a folder delivered to my inventory.

That's a good point, Ceera. What I do with copy/mod items is place a copy in a folder marked ORIGINALS DO NOT @#$^% WITH THESE ONES!!!!! which has cut down on user error considerably.

Folders, definitely. And especially appreciated is a logical name to the contents. Ex: "Starry Night Dark Blue Evening Gown" versus something obsure like "Flight of Fancy Dress", or even worse a folder for a clothing outfit named "Cynthia" or something.

Both have their advantages - a folder makes it easier to see what you've got, a box only takes up one spot in inventory until I have time to mess with it. For many things, though, a folder probably makes the most sense. (I've been a renter, then a landowner, for so long I sometimes forget not everyone has a nice private skybox to unpack things in.) I've started saving pretty boxes in a special folder so I can use them as decorations at Christmastime. Weird, I know, but some of them are lovely. From: Rime Wirsing Just to add a peeve - don't you just love it when you rez a boxed purchase that is so huge you almost get shoved out of your own room? Haven't had that happen yet, thank goodness. BUT... some designers' boxes take up a mess of prims! I was floored the first time I tried to open a box from some store and couldn't rez it because the parcel was full. And I think I had something like 30 prims free!. A nice 3-4 prim shopping bag would have been fine, if a box wasn't good enough...

From: Czari Zenovka The items that I use "Pay" with are scripted items that open/close on touch - doors, curtains, etc. I have them rezzed to purchase copies of so "Pay" has to be used by default then as clicking utilizes the scripting. But with the item being rezzed, it is in full display. Personally, that's not really an annoyance at all when purchasing copies of rezzed items displayed like that. It's when people use the pay dialog with a packaged item when buy would work even better that gets me annoyed.. especially if there's something I want to verify the permissions on before I buy it, or I wont buy it. I've been had too many times by vendor pics saying one type of perms, only to find the item actually has something different. I'm also not a big fan of vendors dispensing a single package just so the customer has to deal with their fancy unpacker script. Far too jaded to consider that any kind of feature lol.
