OK - I been browsing this forum for a few weeks now. I read about the lag and the computer problems, I read about your heartaches and emotional problems, I read about the rip-offs and the griefing and other examples of unreasonable behavior. But we are all still here. Because we love it. Because its fun. Lets have a thread about the funny things in SL. I expect its been done before, but if it has lets do it again. What have you seen or heard in SL that has made you laugh out loud? I'll start. First http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=89oSkUZ1L5s This was first mentioned here by Marianne McCann. It made me laugh out loud. If you havent seen it already, watch it now. Thank you Marianne. Second. I overheard 2 avys talking in chat. I couldnt see them. I can only imagine what they were doing. Her: ooooooooooooh Him: aaaah (pause) Her: Faster. Him: There is no option for speed. Her: No no - just say you are going faster. Him: Im going faster. Her: Harder. Him: Im driving really hard now. Her: Even faster. Him: Im going really fast now. Her: Faster still. Him: Im going really fast. God - What more can I do. Her: Send me flowers?

Driving a Domino's car and not being able to operate and sinking into ground or driving only back wheels, spinning in circles, running into banlines, stop signs while having my friend riding on the roof of the Domino's car joking that deliver virtual pizza's in West Haven perhaps a job I should be doing. While a Police Jeep watched and be very glad they don't give out tickets.

If prims dont touch the ground, they dont count, so look for anything in the shop that appears to be floating slightly.

I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but I was going through old photos and it was funny to *me*...
Some friends of mine used to run a carnival sim. They started with a club, added a bunch of carnival rides, and eventually grew to fill the entire sim. One of the things they had was a train that chugged its way around the park. After events at the club, we would make a game of seeing how many of us could pile on this poor little train. I think eight was the record, but it could have been more.
Every now and then, the train would hit a rough spot and cars would go flying in all directions, with the avatars still sitting on them, before the train reassembled itself. One of the ladies got some great shots of the "great train wrecks"
The park also had a set of bumper cars, and when they were new a bunch of us hostesses went over after an event to check them out. Another hostess sat on the car I was driving, and it turned over on her. So there she was, "stuck" under the overturned bumper car, with the rest of us standing around in a circle trying to figure out how to get her out. (Of course, it took a while for literal old me to realize she was playing, not *really* stuck...) Naturally, someone took pictures and gave them to the bosses the next day, and they died laughing as well. I still have the pics she gave me in my inventory.
Good times...

When I was kind of new I hung out at art galleries. Most of them are always deserted but I find it relaxing. In one prominent gallery I noticed a large eye with some of the optic neve trailing behind floating in one corner. Many sculptures in SL are little more than 3d kaleidoscope images or they are conglomerations of squashed spheres that resemble real life objects, but this was one of the more realistic thngs I'd seen so far. I walked over to admire it and got as close as I could and then cammed in even closer. This object had floating text over it which I thought was a cool way to ensure everyone would know the name of the sculpture, but I could not quite connect the meaning of the name with the image. Then I heard the typing sound and the text came up, "Hello Weston," but I didn't see anyone around. I'm a little slow sometimes I guess. I had been rudely trapping some guy in the corner for several minutes. I've since learned to always keep the mini-map open so I can see the green dots!

I've told this one before, but last July 1st, I was minding my Bay City store when a group of avatars drove up in a jeep, all of them on voice. They were in British revolutionary era redcoats. Charging into the store, they demanded tea. Luckily, I have a tea set and was able to provide such, and they went on their merry, raucous way.
It's those random moments that make me laugh, an help make me love this world of ours.

From: PeterPan Price Show us! Show us! Sorry, I wish I could. I don't have an account at any of the photo-sharing sites. I really should, but I keep putting it off. And since I didn't take those pictures, I'm not sure it would be ethical for me to post them without checking. This is a great thread - I'm enjoying reading it.

I love that rocked up the butt picture lol
I was changing outfits to take pictures for an ad and standing nakie in my photobooth deciding what next...someone sent me a tp and I clicked it by accident, right into a busy club. I tried to tp right back out and couldn't (damn you SL!), so I was kinda hanging in the air naked, not even any hair. Well, I had shoes on lol...I got dressed pretty fast and cussed out the person who sent me the tp.

I had just bought my Xcite Starter pack, so went home all set to attach all the bits together so I could get jiggy with it. 1 - The prim vagina. Don't ask me why it looks like a deformed hotdog. 2 - The X3 Clit And there's me wondering why my girly bits are floating so far away from me and wtf I did. As you can see...I used to be blonde =)

Speaking of funny things ... Only today this happened to me. I recently aquired some new land for an extention on my store, so I decided to offer one of my latest creations for 1L today. I sent a notice to a group I belong to and waited. My radar told me when people were approaching ... then suddenly not. About 20 people got 15M away from me then kept falling. My store is 300M up so I was thinking perhaps they didn't have flight assistance ... I thought of everything in a split second .. go below and set up the item there and put a teleporter in. It wasn't until my new neighbour mentioned the lag because of so many ppl and that it was a human invasion did I realise I had not checked the public acces box on my land!!! DOH!!! .. <insert blushing face here>

1) I was working on a cuddly couples pose using my reg(female) and alt(male) avs, both naked. My slbf dropped in at my studio where I was was working and got all embarassed thinking he was intruding on something. Even though he had spent time with me as each of these avatars. Really, I SWEAR, there's no sexual vibe when I have my regular and my alt together, its strictly a business relationship. 2) I was hanging out at ahern. A guy named Lord Fappington with victorian clothes noticed an *away* av also with the last name of Fappington and broke into a hysterical victorian improv, poking the fellow and saying, see here, my good man, wake up, don't slump over like that, we have the fappington name to uphold.

We had just rented a beautiful beach house and decided to have a house warming party. I kept TPing people over and could tell they were there but didn't know where....until I was told they were stuck in the ceiling. What I didn't realize was that if I stood in a certain place and tp'd people, for some reason they would get stuck between the floors. I cammed up...and sure enough, there were several pairs of legs hanging down like some sort of perverted light fixtures or avi stalagtites. The only way they could get out was to tp out and tp back, while I was standing somewhere else. SL strikes again.

Oh, gosh...let's see.
Certainly, the wedding/funeral of my accountant alt and Trout's accountant alt has to be high on the list. I don't think we've heard the last of the notorious guerilla accountant, Mr. Mumfuzz.
Ice skating at the Hangout while wearing Collider Death attachments.
Careening around the furniture and people's legs at the Hangout in Trout's tiny cars.
Watching people play "can you top THIS av"? at the Hangout.
Decorating various "AFK" avatars...at the Hangout, of course.
Funny how many memorable and funny things happen at that place.
