From: Love Hastings Yeah, that's not going to happen. Though I will put it to sleep.
Actually I regularly come across the request to put it to sleep for lag reasons at busy venues. Seems reasonable enough to me. And it can be an automated request so all you have to do is click yes.

A friend of mine invited me to take a ride in his mysti-tool and I must say it was an impressive ride. It could seat four people comfortably. Also after getting killed by a griefer in a Star Wars RP, he mentioned how it could have protected me and let me know who the shooter was. My search tool and obtaining landmarks is a long and painful process, so I like the idea of getting a mysti-tool, because I love to explore. I was thinking about getting one before (when I was being shot at) but hadn't thought much about it since; but now after reading this thread, I MUST get me a Mysti-Tool very soon! Thanks!

From: Soji Slade And there was that one (or more) person that had a problem with theirs that caused them to not be able to log in - well they could for 2 seconds, long enough to crash whatever sim they were in. /327/1c/206162/1.htmlYeah i remember that one. i wasn't on the forums but when I did a search it came up and I had to read it. That doesn't happen too often by the sounds of it though. I can't wait to go and get it now. i'm soo hyped over the thought of something new to play with. And it means I wont have to keep rezzing my workspace buster and adjusting the hight before i can rez a platform. how cool is that! only two hours till I can get in world lol.... EDIT: spelling...

From: Ceera Murakami I can only think of two 'bad things' about the Mysti-tool.
It takes a while to get to know all the features, because it has so many things it can do! I've got one but haven't yet used it much, because I simply have *not* had time to study all the commands and learn to use it well.
It has a bunch of offensive capabilities that are not able, as far as I know, to be disabled. And several of those weapons would be bannable offenses to use outside of a combat sim. Yes, you can choose to refrain from using the weapons in it. But you're still 'armed and dangerous' if you have it equipped. I would personally love to have a "pacifist" version, with all the offensive weaponry removed. Having the embedded weapons is sort of like having a wonderful palm-sized computer, but being required to carry a loaded bazooka, a grenade launcher and a machine gun at all times, to enable you to use the PDA! If you really want to disarm your Mysti, you can edit it and find in the contents the various weapon objects, and just delete them. The menus will remain, but they won't function any more. The cage, the kill, the toss, etc, all rez objects from Mysti's inventory. If you delete those inventory objects, then you will no longer be 'armed'. Caveats: 1) I have not done this, so I suggest backing up your Mysti before you do it, 2) if you try and use those menus after deleting the objects, you will probably get script errors. OTOH I have customized my Mysti quite a bit (I am SO happy it's modifyable) by adding my own scripts here and there and designing my own button caps to replace the nondescriptive C1, C2 etc. as I could never remember which C button did what after a day or two. -Atashi

From: Sally Silvera Still haven“t found that one Wear the Mystitool Implant item that came in the package. Chat "/1 light on" or some such...check the documentation for the implant for the correct wording. It's the softest, most subtle facelight I've worn. I no longer shine on the horizon like a lighthouse warning ships away from a lee shore.

Could you then please remove all those shipwrecks from the coast please? I only found out about the facelight after I've had the Mystitool for 9 months.... Even my alts all have one because without it, it's like being blind and deaf....and limping.

From: Alyx Sands Could you then please remove all those shipwrecks from the coast please? Oddly enough, there actually IS a shipwreck build just off the coast of Lebettu, my current home sim. I deny all responsibility. I was never there at the time, I don't recall saying that, and besides all the evidence was destroyed in a courthouse fire.

Mystitool Documentation

As several have mentioned (and I also encountered) the Mysti is so powerful that at first it seems overwhelming to even read the User's Manual - which is excellent, btw!
Which is why for the longest time, I only really used a handful of its features...
UNTIL! I went to one the class Mystical Cookie held. The class notes can be obtained at her shop where the Mysti is sold. A GREAT way to get started with your new Mysti or help "veterans" find even more cool features.
(Had no idea about the facelight...THANK YOU!!)

Mystitool (even though I didn't know about some of its features before I read this thread) has got to be the single best investment I have made in SL. IMHO, its creator should be considered for SL canonization. If you buy absolutely nothing else, get Mystitool. Biggest bang to buck ratio I've seen in a loooooong time.

I tried the free version a few weeks ago and it made my screen shake (very subtle but terribly annoying.) I also felt overwhelmed with the instructions and all the choices, and this was the freebie lol I think all your comments have made me curious enough to try again. This time, I'll BUY one.

Never had the screen shake.. maybe you had a flight assist on as well as the freebie HUD? Mystitool includes one, and two flight assists can cause various problems In general (Freebie only for me so far, upgrading today lol) I loe mystitool ^^ WOnderful tool, the best investment ever lol

If I ever needed to make an alt, and had no one to send her money, I would camp for 10 minutes just long enough to earn the L$1 needed to buy the freebie version of Mystitool.

The below is from a VERY brief notecard, only going over the stuff I use regularly, that I did for a friend of mines. Some of you might find it useful:
---
Okay, so Mysti Tool.
There's lots in it, a lot I dun even use. But here's the ones I do use.
* Automatically will allow you to fly over 150m. As high as you want, really.
* from the left-hand button, select "Emote" - you can then choose a facial expression that will stick til you tell it not to.
* From the left hand button, select "Anim Stop" which usually works better than any "stop all animations" I found
* From the left hand button, select "idle set" - this will keep you from idiling off.
* From the left hand button, select "posing" - this will rez a pose stand for you.
* /1 scan sim Allows you to see who else is in a sim with you, all over a sim.
* (with the implant on) /1 light Provides a face light, an has a few extra options.
* /1 mimic Can allow you to make anything talk on the fly. Great for pranks an stuff.
* The right side button - you can drag LMs onto this, then when you click the button, you'll get a list of the LMs you put in there. It's like a "favorites."
--
There's tons more, of course. This was jes someting I did really quick. Heck, I'm still learning stuff on it (like /1 anim)

Got one about 2 weeks ago, great stuff, love it. The flight assist, TP history, bug scanner, av scanner are great and has lots of other great features. I wish i had bought one earlier One thing if you're going to get one: buy it in the store because it's cheaper than in SLx

Ok, you lot have convinced me so much that I've just bought it. I have used the emote and the platform rezzer already! how easy is this! I love it! I haven't got time to go through much more atm but as it has already got rid of about 3 other items and HUDs it is definitely worth it.

As a business owner, I've found it invaluable when I'm working in my shop to watch for avs within range, especially chat range, since my store is right next door to the shop. Always try to drop what I'm doing (assuming it's "physical" of course and take a moment to greet a potential customer. By default being able to continue flying way past the normal 200 and something altitude is invaluable, too. My partner hostesses at a club and loves the "entering chat range" feature for greeting new people who TP into the club. The facial expressions are fun to play with, too. Try the one where you stick out your tongue (not while drinking anything in RL, however). ...and the list goes on...
