A point that nobody else seems to have mentioned here.
Is there any hope for 'copyright protection' when our illustrious leader, Philip Linden, is well known for wearing a t-shirt with the Rolling Stones 'tongue' image on it. You can bet as many L$ as you want that it isn't an "officially endorsed" product in SL by the band, breaking even more points of law than the name of a bed with a few animations in it... and I'm sure the Rolling Stones have a little more money to protect the image as well. Assuming, of course, that John Pasche isn't in SL...

As a content creator who has had works stolen I know how bad it sucks. As an SL security expert I have known for a long time how insecure SL is (and there is nothing that can be done short of Trusted Computing). I have been keenly watching how RL law tackles SL.
