It came up as part of a Jira proposal aimed at making ALL debug settings changes persist. Not sure of the URL but there's enough information there if you'd like to search for it.

tks!

Lately those Administrative tools have been on the Profiles window…Freeze, UnFreeze, and some others. I was told they were just for Lindens?
That's the effect of "View Admin Options" (or some such) from the Client debug menu. Don't worry, it doesn't really enable you to make their Inventory items disappear whenever they rez something. ;)

Waaaay WAAAY before this feature is worked on, I sure would like to feel secure in rezzing my no-copy items.

/me AR's Linden Labs for violating the anti-gambling rules by making simple rezzing "rely on chance".

We need to look into this, it took until post 28 to derail it. Heads will roll!

I still have the option in the client menu. Are you using the windlight viewer? When I was playing with it a few days ago I believe I was not able to pull up the client menu....or adjust my camera distance, one of those I was having an issue with.

In the latest release candidate version I just got through installing, it appears that it remembers the disable camera constraints setting.

I think the beam that goes from your hand to the thing you are editing is toggled by Tools / Show Selection Beam.

The only time I've ever had to re-disable the camera constraints was whenever I installed an updated version. Now, if only those damn clouds would stay gone until I actually want them there.:)

Some earlier releases of the Nicholaz viewer made changes in the client menu "sticky." I'm glad to hear the SL viewer has finally caught up.

That might explain it - I've been using Nicholaz for quite a while now.

Not sure if anyone noticed or had it work for them, but with the Windlight Viewer my Disable Camera Constraints stays checked.

Or maybe I'm just lucky?

I think it's doing it for everyone. I think the Windlight version is supposed to be up to date with the Release Candidate, and that the version prior to the one I just downloaded also retained the Camera Constraint setting. Thus the Windlight version did and does also.

Just checked my windlight viewer and it is there....it was the draw distance I couldn't find to adjust. Is that in a new tab or new area?

It's true having a low draw distance will prevent you from zooming very far. Makes it hell if your a sim admin trying to edit a large build in incredible lag. So you gotta bite the bullet and crank your draw distance up enough to zoom around.

Stoopid question probably, but does that mean camera restraint is linked to your draw distance?

Cube Linden has already coded "Quiet Snapshots to Disk" and "Disable Camera Constraints" to persist after you logout, but his changes have yet to hit either beta or official clients. It came up as part of a Jira proposal aimed at making ALL debug settings changes persist. Not sure of the URL but there's enough information there if you'd like to search for it.

release notes for the lateset viewer say this has been enabled....

and yeah they really should make the whole damn thing sticky, along with the ui, so my f'n chat history and im window will stay open.... like the inventory does even when I don't want it too.

It is. Confused the heck out of me the first few times I logged on and did the usual ritual only to find that I had de-activated the option because it was sticky now.
