See, with removing the words that they don't look for, this could be a smutty ad... ;P
Dang Kokoro, you should get a Job with Jerry Falwell and the Inquisition (Evangelical right) if you can spot smut that well.

the other third on pvt. estates are flagging wrong. last night, One club has the land set to not adult but mature, and set to must have age verification.. their group chat was all a buzz and the owner said it is done right refuses to fix it... no idea, and does not get it. This is very common from what I have seen as well. Come Sept, we can start ARing them to get them to set it right, or LLs will get so overwelmed with all the ARs that they will remove the 'adult verify' checkbox and merely have one place and not two places for 'adult' to be set... Many of these wrongly setup clubs are easily recognizable - they have very hostile signs out front telling everyone complaining that they are right and you are wrong... _____________________

I predict an excited Torley vid tutorial, with a small chance of a new "phone voice Torley" version. _____________________

From: Zindra Alliance
to me show details 12:12 PM (1 minute ago) Group Notice From: Blondin Linden In an attempt to reach out to those still using adult key words on Mature / PG Land, many of you who have already moved to adult land may have gotten the email as well. We're sorry for the confusion. The list was a bit more inclusive than we had anticipated. If you have have already moved or flagged your land as adult, then no further action is currently needed. ______________________________________ I hope this can be blogged so more than the 180 members of Zindra Alliance get to see it. Although I am not really feeling safe after seeing this anyway. I feel I still need some more clarification. _____________________

Ticket filed and answered:
08-26-2009 13:56
I filed a ticket over this email (since live chat wouldn't work for me, and this is what I got:
"Hello Seraphim, We were advised that the email was sent to some residents in error and pertained to only those not in compliance. A new email should be going out shortly addressing the first one. Sincerely, Colton Linden" So apparently this is an issue with emails being sent to the wrong people. My origional ticket is below (Beware, bad spelling: I hadn't had my coffee yet): "Hullo, I have tried to ask this in the live support chat, but it gets stuck at initilizing chat(+10 min, tried several times), so I'm asking here. I recieved the email Important Information Regarding Your Second Life Account (in reguards to adult content). I have three parcels, one PG store in Mature Land, and 2 Parcels in Zindra. The email states that I am not currently compliant, and suggests I: "Private region owners, change your region rating to Adult. If you rent, or if you own Mainland property then move to an Adult region (Zindra or Adult rated private region. OR Remove any adult-themed content from your parcel description, classified ad and land (whichever is applicable)." I have no classifides, just land showing in search. The two Adult themed parcels have been moved to Zindra, and therefor are tagged as Adult Content automaticaly (I checked to be sure). One has "Anything" as a catagory, because it also has library suplies, but it is compliant because it is catagorized as "Adult Content", and threfor would not show in search unless adult content was checked. The PG store has only PG (possibly Mature, but if so not by much) items (PG Library furniture, reading couches, scribe desk, candles, PG paintings, etc). Nothing it the land description mentions sex, or sex related items, since there are none there. Why was I flagged? Why did I recieve this email? I have no way to comply when I can't figure out how I'm being non-compliant... Thank you, I await your response." |

Anyone else get the Letter?

We also moved to Zindra, and left some of the store in Mainland. Still got the letter after going thru everything, wish they would be more specific.

It looks like they sent the note to a bunch of people in error. I got a response regarding my ticket overnight.
Hello, We have been informed that the email that went out earlier went to some residents in error and only pertains to certain individuals. A new email will be going out shortly to address this. Sincerely, Colton Linden Oh, well ... Thanks to all who came back with sometimes hilarious and sometimes extremely helpful responses! ![]() |

Imagine getting the following letter from your local government:
"You are receiving this letter because you are violating the law. Stop violating the law or you will be punished. If you are not sure what you are doing that is violating the law, consult a law library." Linden Lab is managed by clowns. |

I checked the "adult" words on the slapt.me list. I was shocked to figure out the word that may be tripping up my club's land. The word is "stripper."
According to the knowledge base: "Dance clubs that feature 'burlesque' acts can also generally reside in Mature Regions so long as they don't promote sexual conduct, such as through pose balls (whether in 'backrooms' or more visible spaces)." Just to be sure that I didn't suddenly forget the English language, I consulted my old Webster's dictionary. "Burlesque" is defined as "a stage show featuring comic, usu. bawdy skits and striptease acts." A "stripper" is still indeed "one who performs a striptease." So one the one hand, the policy goes out of its way to protect a strip club as Mature, but then filters out "stripper" as adult. Normally, I wouldn't hold it against someone that they are unfamiliar with burlesque or striptease. But when one is writing a policy about them, one should have a club. I still submitted a support ticket to get the specific violation. Slapt.me is not an official source of information. I want an official source cited. "Stripper" is not Adult content due to the official source; it's clearly Mature. |

Aw hell, I was going to open up a shop selling stuff so that people could redecorate their SL houses, and a couple of the products I was going to sell were paint stripper and wood stripper.

"Stripper" is not Adult content due to the official source; it's clearly Mature. It may not be official, but I'm here to tell you the man hours that were poured into that rival the ones the LL have on this whole AC policy, and They are referring people back to slapt.me for advice. You can wait, and file all the tickets you like, there are many many people that have been dealing with this for months (since march) and have fought it every step of the way, offered better alternatives, and more, and still here we are. Welcome to our hell. We all got told.. move or close. We filed tickets, fought to get moved, and been buried under layers of *adult* flags now for close to 2 months, while everyone else has blithely gone on with business as usual. I am sure your frustrated, and rightfully so, but you will not find better, more condensed info, that's been documented better than at slapt.me I hope LL gives you answers, and satisfaction, but don't hold your breath. ~Brie _____________________

I got a fast response to my ticket which was an unhelpful generic response. I reopened it and said:
"Dear Matt, (Matthew Linden) You may not be the guy who coded the search for this email, but it's basically useless. Without telling us *which parcel* or *what classified* prompted the message, how am I supposed to figure out what to fix? I respectfully suggest you pass along this note to whoever in customer support set up the email. The next time you do this, include the items that flagged as adult content *in the email*. You guys must know what it is, cause you claim to have found it. Daniel" |

"Stripper" is not Adult content due to the official source; it's clearly Mature. You won't GET an official answer. This is the whole reason for the Slapt.me information...LL has flatly (and officially) refused to publish the banned words list, on the theory that if the words are known, people will play search games with their ads. So instead, we play blindman's bluff. ![]() _____________________

I don't expect to get a good answer. I just want an official one. as Lindal says, your answer will be that the naughty word list is secret. of course it raises the point of how you can comply if you don't know what is forbidden but LL never seem to want to answer that one. _____________________

Ok, so now that we have this crap list, what ther hell are we supposed to do? I know of a sim that has a BDSM club on it, NOT rated and NOT on the "adult" sim and still openly working while the ROLE PLAY sims, that actually have nothing to do with sex but are related to a book about slavery, are tagged and shut down. WTF??
What are they going to do next, ban xcite or cuddle balls anywhere but the adult continent? Oh and for the record, I've been around on my main for over three years, was one of the pioneers and I'm sick of the games they are playing now. I'm spending my money elsewhere now instead of making the Lindns richer. ![]() |

I don't expect to get a good answer. I just want an official one. We've repeatedly asked for the list to be published officially, and have been repeatedly told it won't be, because publishing it would "help people to game the system." Don't ask me what that means.. |

The closest you're going to get to an official answer is by setting your search preferences to PG and Mature, but not Adult, in the "All" tab and then doing a search on "stripper" and seeing what happens. If it returns results, "stripper" is not blocked. If you get an error message about "community standards," it is. Which, as I understand it, is how the slapt.me list is compiled. We've repeatedly asked for the list to be published officially, and have been repeatedly told it won't be, because publishing it would "help people to game the system." Don't ask me what that means.. "Gaming the system" means if we knew exactly what was filtered, people would simply work around it. As it turns out, we do know exactly what was filtered, though we had to figure it out ourselves, rather than being handed a list. Innula is exactly correct. I maintain the list by actually testing all the words and variations in both the viewer and search.secondlife.com web search. I try to retest them each time they do a server update, since that appears to be where the filter is applied. If the filter was done in the viewer, one of the open source viewers would code around it. A lot of words in ads slip through because people are using commas or other symbols. so "escort" with spaces around it gets filtered, and "escort," does not because of the comma. It's a very poor filter. It fails to catch the following: *spelling variations *synonyms *other languages besides english *symbols before or after words *words in the ad photo |

You really don't know what that means?? It's going to be published anyway, and even if it weren't, it's easy enough to discover the sort of work-rounds described by Daniel, so why the charade? |

CHANGES IN SEARCH AS OF 27 August 2009:
08-28-2009 16:56
No, in that I don't see how publishing it officially, rather than making people look it up in the slapt.me wiki, would provide any particular assistance to people who wish to game the system. It's going to be published anyway, and even if it weren't, it's easy enough to discover the sort of work-rounds described by Daniel, so why the charade? I really don't understand it either, since its trivial to check a word by typing it into search. Meanwhile..... CHANGES IN SEARCH AS OF 27 August 2009: Once again some features of search have changed, this time with the updated website. Main changes: * Any uppercase letter anywhere in a word causes web search to let a word through. This has the side effect of letting BDSM and XXX get searched where they did not before. * Dungeon is no longer filtered either in Viewer search, or website search. Please check out the independant wiki page for the latest info: http://www.slapt.me/wiki/index.php/...ntent_Keywords? http://www.slapt.me/wiki/index.php/Adult_Content_Keywords if you note something that's different than what is written there, please edit or put a note in the talk page I have gotten partway through checking the hundreds of words NOT filtered in the past. We keep a list of words we have checked to save other people from wondering what works and what does not work. |
