Looking for rainstorms

Today's inquiry:

The weather is usually quite pleasant in SL, but on occasion, I'd just like to run through a rainstorm, a thunderstorm...some storm.

I have happened upon sims where the weather has been stormy, but I have no recollection of where I was at the time. (of course, did I make a landmark? no...)

Any suggestions for where I can find a dark and stormy night?

Try "The Forest of Kahruvel". Nice rainstorms there, not sure if it's where you've been in the past.

I did a search for storms yesterday and came up with nothing...not sure what other keywords to use, but I will be paying very close attention to this thread!!

Not quite what you're looking for but a friend of mine just got one of these. It's _really_ cool - very, very well done.

This one is pricy, but go to his in-world location, he has others that are less expensive. http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=98238

Where did you find said rainmaker? How much land does it cover? I'm wanting it to rain on my sim :)

It would be really cool if you could get it to rain outside but not inside.

I'd love a miniature dark cloud that would follow me around, and rain down on only me. My own little lag inducing cloud of unhappiness. I'd wear it while shopping in really crowded stores, and see if it bothered those around me enough to make comments :D

Honey I have an awesome weather machine, thunder, lightening, rain etc. It is great sitting in the hot tub at night (under cover) with the storm around you. I think the avatar name was Lindman. IM me if you would like me to find the LM for you.

Wow! How wonderful!!! Thank you, foehn!

Actually, what I had been wondering about was...which sims have rain/storms on them, that I could walk through, and enjoy! And now I can make my own. :)

Thanks again, foehn.

Good to know it exists :)
I'll search for it later when I log on, I'm sure it'll show up. Maybe I'll find a copy on SLex...

That's the Lindman weather machine... and I got one from SL Exchange. LOVE it. Covers a good amount of space and it can be as stormy or as drizzley as you like.

It's drizzling right now near the duck pond at mt. trumboji. check it out by looking up Starax on the map and TPing to the southeast corner of the sim. Take the ferry to Wini's point. Sorry if that seems like a long trek. Believe me, it's longer without the ferry :)

Damanios Thetan has a great weather system, w/ updates, it has clouds, rain, lightning and what I love about it, snow! :)

Since we're doing video's :) here's a demo vid for the product I mentioned on the previous page of this thread. Near as I can see, this is what the product looks like in-world, except for that the video's in black & white..

Meade, I agree that HUD is amazing. Fun just to play with the demo, but also really cool to rez a tornado and run it amuck across your land at home. :)

I thought the debris was a particularly nice touch, as is the ability for everyone around it to get sucked up into it.
