Hi everyone! /looks sheepish for not being in the forum more --
At login we get a notice concerning some sort of lottery. The thing says to search wiki.secondlife.com for "linden lottery information" and, predictably, the search gives the equivalent of a 404.
Anyone?

I found it by searching for exactly what the startup message said to search for, but only if I included the quotes. Of course, the website might be sub-functional right now.

Yeah, I get that too, but with "page text matches" below that which link to the lottery pages, so it worked in a round about way. _____________________

I just searched for Luna in the wiki and found it that way. Really, this kind of thing needs a blog announcement.

It was hard to find, the message at log in said to search the wiki for Linden Lottery Information and of course nothing found...I ended up having to click the 'see all portals' thing, then I saw the boat slip lottery info, clicked on that and at the bottom was a link that said "linden lottery information" which I clicked to get to the lottery I wanted. Pretty convoluted :\

Has LL come out with the lottery winners yet? It said the 11th. "Lottery entries are due no later than November 10, 2008 by Midnight 12:00am PDT" and "New occupants will be able to move in on November 15, 2008, no later than 1PM PDT" That, combined with the message on the 'winners' page about the 15th tells me that the winners will probably get notified tomorrow or early on the 15th. _____________________

I went around the three locations... and, well....
New Port Yacht Club has a few boats in it, but some look like they're just the lottery winners personal boat, not actually a "for sale" item. One seaplane slip has what looks like the start of a shotgun shack on it. Another has a boat being hastily built, next to a large sandcastle. Luna Oaks Galleria has a number of fair stores, though it would seem at least one did not know they could not modify the outside of their store. I found it curious that at least one boat seller was there, stuck in one of the tubes. Busy Ben's has a few vehicles in it, some very good, some so-so. A"joust" style game is also for sale -- interesting, but not exactly a vehicle as a game system. Ah well. One person did come up to me while I was there, wearing his Busy Ben Lottery Winner tag. He told me he won a spot, but he doesn't actually make anything. I laughed when I asked him, politely, why he entered. _____________________
