No I didn't purchase it, I simply rented it from them. They have to pay for the land.
I didn't contribute tier to the group.
I was going to ask them if they would sell the land to me too, but they don't answer.

The land is in Tigerclaw (a 4096 parcel)

As a renter, you have no legitimate claim to the the land. Your best option is to begin searching for a new rental parcel and not leave any no-copy items sitting out, because you have no way of knowing when the owner's tier might expire and the land revert to LL.

If the owner has been banned or otherwise left SL, you're not going to get an answer. And if the land reverts to LL, it might be months before it goes up for auction.

Unfortunately, LL will close the group if you're the only member left. Groups must have 2 members at all times to stay open. As far as I know, only the owners can designate you as an owner. If the original owners have left, then there's no way for you to become owner. If you can't invite another AV as member in the next 48 hrs., the group will be disbanded. You can't use the same group name to create a new one, once the group is closed.

That sucks...I can understand not including restoring groups cause of saving time for other stuff, but I mean...after a certain time the closed group name should be wiped and recycled.
