are you EFFING kidding me?

okay ive been really patient with all the things LL has been allowing themselves to do, but im starting to wonder how far im going to go with this...
so just now a friend scolds me over MSN about why i ignore their IMs and points to SL. im like, what the hell are you talking about? in a complete panic naturally i assume my account has been hacked, check everything twice, until i finally find a mail by LL telling me my account is screwing up SL and that it was disabled for a short amount of time.
during this time someone from LL logged into my account, visibly for anyone, collected all my IMs, leaving people to think i was there and ignored them, did god knows what with my things and left again? just like that?
are these people OUT OF THEIR MIND?
i run a big business so you can be sure this will piss off quite a few people, not to mention that i expect to be informed what the problem was they were looking into and what their conclusions were? is there any limit to how far this utterly unprofessional bunch of wannabe providers is allowed to go?
i find this honestly outrageous, because even if you let all the aspects ive mentioned aside i havent even started to talk about the privacy concerns.

How did you ascertain that someone from LL had logged into your account?

when the lindens access your account, they send you a nice email, letting you know that for "whatever security reason they aren't going to disclose" they were forced to log into your account.

Well....

Assuming you have absolute proof that LL did log in as you........there's also a very very serious little law in this country about privacy protection. IF LL were ever in any way to violate any kind of discolosure laws and privacy laws.....and of course lets not forget their own TOS.......I'm sure there would be a ration of poopoo reigning down upon them like nothing they or their lawyers could imagine.

So....while it certainly sucks pond water that this happened......my guess is that your account and all your goodies are quite safe and in tact. LL cannot afford to do anything so utterly stupid as to exploit one of their residence by gleening personal info off their account. Or posing as a resident just for ha ha's. The fact is, somehow, some way....LL determined that there was a problem (IT people see these things....that's what they're trained for) and rather then letting your account....and maybe a good portion of the grid.....or a server......implode into pixel garbage.....they chose to address it quickly.


What's more disturbing is other sites.....like....oooohhh.....that ever increasingly popular one falled......faaaazebuuuk...... actually DO gleen information off people and there's no laws protecting users from it either. SL is pretty insular compared to a lot of social sites out there....you gotta be real careful what you say, what links you share.....and so on....I'll take my chances with LL any day. And if they want to log in as Milla to fix a nasty booboo....let em.....

oh im facing reality, im not complaing about them fiddling around in my private issues, im complaining about the unprofessional way they chose to do so, involving everyone on my friendslist, my IMs, items i receive and finally shocking and unsettling me about what the hell is going on.

Yeah it does kind of suck wind that a bunch of (ostensibly) innocent people got dragged into your little nexus of evil.

Were they checking your account because someone filed an abuse report against you ?

Thats when I got one of those emails.

actually about 4 years ago my brother tried to log in on his main only to discover it was disabled. He then logged in on his alt to see his main standing there having a conversation with a linden. He walked over and asked what the heck was going on. Turns out they were trying to find an object he had reported gone missing from inventory. LOL

This is not a new procedure on their part and honestly one they don't do very often. I wouldn't get to panicked about it.

ooo! lol. I got logged out not so long ago for 24 hours and couldnt log back in. No email or anything. Maybe was because a Linden was trying on my stuff

something like this happen to me a couple of times, my friends and customers see me online when i was off for a couple of days, all my im "intercepted", because that they call me by phone (criend in rl who are in sl too) telling me about this, when i come back i contact the live help and explain what append but hey tell me "lL allways sen an email if they need to log in into an account", i never get that email....
Result, angry customers an friends because i dont answer their im´s.
I allways acces to SL in my home computer , change my password every week (20 alphanumerics upper case characters etc), antivirus up to date, no sniffers on my PC etc.

Account hacked?
linden loged to my account?
