Having the accounts that are used to do the TMNT, Goatse anal imagery, tubgirl, shit-penis, "Lemon Party", racist etc. inworld attacks unable to use the forum unless they provide payment info, plus the knowledge that if you misbehave in the forums past a certain degree, LL will cancel all of the accounts they can associate with the misbehaving accounts and cause them to forfeit their Linden balance, land, inventory, etc. keeps the habitual serious troublemakers out and restrains the tendency of most to engage in fits of alt.flames style behavior.

LL carries the big stick in the forums so it feels no need to speak other than softly.

Considering most if not all questions are answered within the first two pages I think having threads that automatically lock on the third would largely eliminate a resmod. I may be wrong but there's a thread here that has grown another 11 pages since I was last here. If I wanted to read a novel I have one in my cupboard.
While I have no problem at all in maybe requiring a bunch of short stories rather than a novel, would you define the pages based upon the Default display per page? That can be overridden in your options - mine is set to display 40 posts per page. The smallest is 5 per page (I think) and I don't remember what the default is.
