What I've seen on Youtube looks great, better than last years, I got to check it out I love looking at other peoples creativity, it overinspires me so I get nothing done on lots of new projects at once :)

For a change, I set lighting to 'midnight' which made the most of the amazing lighting effects.
An oddity: a particular texture animation effect that I'm using in my exhibit doesn't work at all on the Midnight setting (and only *precisely* at midnight). So I begged and got the time for the sim shifted a few minutes toward morning. It's still pitch black, for all practical purposes, but my trick works. :)

(Unfortunately, Snowglobe doesn't show the effect anyway, at least on my machine, as a side-effect of a whole family of rendering/texture-loading misadventures in that viewer.)

I tried to go last night. There were about five other people on the sim I visited (is it just one sim?, I haven't looked yet, I know last year was many sims). Lag was worse that pea soup (pea soup would involve fog, why do I mention fog? Well, I did have problems seeing, but I meant lag was so bad I couldn't move). Since I'd try hard to move certain direciton, and bang, I'm facing the wrong direction and five parcels away suddenly.

Also, the massive use of glow hurt my eyes. :(

A directory of exhibits: http://tr.im/SL6Bexhibits
and of events: http://tr.im/SL6Bevents

Many thanks for the links Qie. I have been back and selected my viewing and I found it much more interesting.
Does help that it is very quiet and a lot less laggy.
