I'm going through an updo/no alpha phase right now, and I'm really liking Sinsation and Ingenue. (Don't know why I said JetDoll at first when I meant Ingenue. I'm sure their hair is lovely too.)
Also, I changed my shape recently, and I've found that all the Calla updos that looked really meh on me before now suit me very well.
Thanks for the Savoir Hair reccomendation - I'm off to browse!

My current favs are Pixel Dust, Detour and lots of the small asian shops...lots of very low cost cute hair there. One place to look is sakura mall...some hair is about 30L and just as good as the expensive stuff.

used to get what i can, but now i find myself wearing only a few designers now, ETD, Armidi, & Aveda mainly but sometimes i run across an up and coming hair designer with really nice prices and great styles. im me inworld and ill give you my folder-o-hair lms.

My new favorite is Magika. Inexpensive hair, but beautifully done.
Hair Solutions is another favorite.
