Who sells pretty good hair for a good price? (not to disrespect all of our hard working designers but I'm on a budget) What are some hair trends that you like? I notice that hair sure does make the avatar....discuss

ETD, Calla and Diversity are the only designers I wear. But there are a bunch of fine ones.

Laqroki (ada RaC, but their hair is vv pricey), Sirena, Diversity Hair, boon...
In addition, there is a store called Free Speerit (yes that is how it is spelled) that was giving away all its hair...not sure if that deal is still in effect. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Quest%20III/155/151/22 Dernier Cri, a store new to the Main Grid (but was on the Teen Grid), has really nice hair too, that is not vv expensive, either. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dernier%20Cri/129/134/28 _____________________

What would be some good hair that doesn't use any alpha textures and thus doesn't suffer from the Z-buffer shifting around problem?

What would be some good hair that doesn't use any alpha textures and thus doesn't suffer from the Z-buffer shifting around problem? Robin Sojourner's non-prim hair, I imagine! _____________________

Tami McCoy sells some really good hair at what I consider reasonable prices.

Gurlywood (thst's Six Kenedy's store, right?) has a voucher for free hair for newbies. If yu are less than a month old, picka style and color, fill in the notecard and get the hair free in about a day or less.

Robin Sojourner's non-prim hair, I imagine! Gee, thanks for the suggestion. Been wearing that for a good while now. I should have said prim hair that doesn't use alpha textures. Any other good non-prim hair besides Robin Sojourner's? _____________________

Keep your eyes open for the next Hair Fair, which is a great opportunity to get a ton of demos, marked down styles and freebies. Some of my favorites were discounts.
I'd also say to check out the various hair shops since many have a discount area. You never know what you might find. I have hair from Analog Dog, ETD, Calla, Tami McCoy, and some others too. Remember that you can often make a copy in your inventory and then EDIT > Edit Linked Parts to start customizing while wearing the hair standing on a pose stand. I prefer not to shrink my avies head to fit the hair, so I just do some gentle tweaking. I can always delete the copy if I was careless. |

Kin (by Kin Keiko) and Deviant Kitties are good if you do not want the 1-cubic-meter-curly-blonde-hair look. Deviant Kitties in particular leans towards the punkish, though.

If you are really short of money then go to Savoir Hair, almost 30 hairs at 0 or 1L$
Otherwise, Cake, Maitreya, Minnu (the long flexy are very cool), Aoharu, Armidi, Naughty, House of Heart (I still think that their group still offers a free pack), Bewithched (don't know if it's right but it has also a free pack) ... These are the ones I remember to offer to my cousin |

Use the search function for "Hair" and enjoy yourself looking round. Many hair designer have bargain packs and free packs. Some of my favourite hair -dos are free ones or 1L$ offers. If you are less than 30 days old, then some have a free choice scheme - and TRY THE DEMOS. I've found something I like in just about every hair designer in SL.

Celestial one http://www.flickr.com/photos/26652117@N07/2498355065/in/set-72157605199741973/ ETD http://www.flickr.com/photos/26652117@N07/2498356079/in/set-72157605199741973 sometimes i guess you can get away with certain female styles if your a guy..though I do find the choice for a decent male style is kind limited or at least I havent found some good ones yet |

As a hair fiend, who has paid for more than my fair share since I've joined here (I hate to even think about what I've spent between myself and my Alts) I've recently discovered the free way to go too. Join the Freestyle, FabFree and Vain groups. They send out notices daily for all kinds of freebies from designers for clothing, hair and other items (animations, shoes, hunts, etc) which will eventually boggle your mind and overwhelm your inventory but is a great way to get excellent items for free or nearly free. I've gotten fantastic hair from all of the major "houses" from being a member of these groups; all for 0 or only $1 - including the fat packs at times. _____________________

Faves right now are Cake, Zero, Sirena, I love the Hairspray Mall, lots of lesser known designers with great Hair. Marly makes a awesome pixie style as well as 40's inspired hair.

i'll drop everything i'm doing when i come a crossed a good hair designers store..
right now i mostly wear Sirena..she has beautiful styles and a natural flexi that i like..you don't really have the barbs that stab you from stiff prims.. Gurl6 has a lot of fun styles and used to be all i would wear same with Deviant kitty another that i liked but not sure if they are around anymore or not ..X'clusive.. X'clusive had alot of good noflexi styles ..they may have flexi now if they are still around. _____________________
